Never having to ask permission from a wife to buy something for hunting or fishing. I recall those days when I would have to get the "ok" for that..... I look back now and laugh... let's see, I couldn't get a new bow, boat, rod, reel ,stand etc, but she could take class after class to get a PHD until she didn't need my income anymore and left.... Never again will I succumb to such silliness... ok, i go back in my hole now...

Good crazy never lasts, I learned with a trial marriage that never went beyond engagement. Keep the ring but promise I never have to hear your voice again.

Marriage can be a raw deal for many. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense from a legal perspective. If your a man the cards aren’t stacked in your favor. Best bet is to rent, never buy.

Sorry guys, but since today is my 15th anniversary I'll weight in on this. If you marry the wrong person it can be torture. But remember that's your choice. I made the correct one and I hope you all get a chance to find the one.

People grow apart.. life goals change.. People find who they thought they married is not the person they want to be with forever..

I will say money or the lack of will cause issues in every marriage from day one till day zero. I choose my partner to not only to be my love, but also a best friend and confidant.

I made a pledge on the day I ask her to marry me to never let money dictate our relationship. I never tell her no if we can afford something she wants and expect the same from her.

Our motto is: money is money and doesn't matter where it comes from it all spends the same. If you ain't got it ya can't spend it.

We never buy anything that is a "personal" want on credit.

42 years strong and love her more today than ever.

My marriage wasn't one of fighting or issues over money. It was, she became a completely different woman. She became a liberal, she became very very concerned about status, and did not want to even think about living in the country or a much more simple life....plus she found another dude... that always will do it

that’s great, good luck to you and many more.

I was married to my first wife for 16 years. It was great until it wasn’t. Never thought I would get divorced. It does take work, and people change.

Yes, we joke that I had a weak moment after telling her for 5 years I was never going to marry again. I even tried to drop her off at the courthouse door while I parked out back. She wasn’t having it.

I did get a prenup. I have a fair amount of separate property an assets that are protected. I don’t plan on working much longer so I don’t have much that is vulnerable.

At my age, if something were to happen, divorce or death of my wife, I know that I am not getting married again. The older a guy gets, the more in demand he will become when single.

It will be 21yrs married September 17 for my wife and I. We married pretty young at 22. Both moved straight into our current house from our parents. She is strong willed and has kept me out of a lot of trouble over the years. Who knows where’d I’d be without her.
