Public hunting in October on weekdays are by far the best in my opinion! Not much pressure at all! Good luck bud! I think we’ll have a shot at this thing!

It's going to be different for me for sure, no trail cameras, have to pull the stand after every hunt. Scent control will be different I am used to walking out of the house and to my tent with the ozone machine in it. Will have to use the wind as much as possible.

Def a big change but I’m sure you’ll adapt quick, what are you using for you stand setup, I have fixed stands on the farm I hunt but I alway have my sticks and stand to move around. On public I just use the LW stand and sticks, works good and can be super quite to setup.

I hang and hunt every hunt. Even on the private farm I could technically hunt..always used an xop vanish evo and hawk helium sticks but switched to a saddle last year and never looking back lol some days I’m miles back..some days I’m 200 yards from the road ha lonewolf gear is definitely the OG for sure though. Can’t go wrong with it. I used a climber with success for many years too but they quit making the one I used and I had a weld break on me. It was a timber tall and weighed like 7# total. Loved that thing.

You can always get it welded, it’s nice to slip into a prehung stand for different winds in proven spots. I do like the hang and hunt over the climber. No tree restrictions and can hunt better cover.

The Millennium with the biggest base they offer I thing I can get away with leaving the mounting bracket on the tree if it is a good location. My plan is to start early and watch. The WMA I am hunting is on the small size mostly butts up to water, large mature hardwoods and open fields. But the SE corner is next to a farmers bean field and that is the 20% where all the action happens the pond pinches there is a hill and thick brush. Looking forward to figuring it out. To be honest I am not in it for a buck head on the wall, I want venison. That being said if I see evidence of a big buck I will get after it.

Nice to “meet” you. Good idea on sharing a little to the team.

I’m in IL. I’ve got two leases and one property I can hunt with a friend when he’s willing and able. I’m blessed with the properties I’m lucky enough to hunt, but work commitments and such will keep me from hunting as much as I’d like. The past two years I’ve harvested bucks in the 110-115 range with a bow and always have plenty of opportunities to take a doe. I’m also lucky enough to be around really big deer. I usually find a way to blow those opportunities, but there’s always a chance the stars could align.

Sounds like you got her all figured out haha. I had a m100u and hated it but I only had the one bracket. Can’t definitely see the advantage of having brackets and leaving them. They’re some damn comfortable stands though for sure!

Checking in from Cambria County - Pennsylvania. First time in the game, signed up on alternate list as I'll be in Wyoming chasing Elk this year for 2 weeks. So that's definitely cutting into some of the vacation time I have to use for archery season. Still hoping to get to at least Ohio. Have 2 doe tags and 1 buck tag for PA. Excited to see how things go!
