I know most people use Onx or HuntStand, but does anyone use HuntWise?? Looks like it has a good bit of options and features compared to the others. I like the hunt cast part of it

I first used Scoutlook which then combined in with Huntstand ... Huntstand is what I use now... for me, it does all I want and need .... never even looked at HuntWise ... I may down the line .... I mark stand locations, check wind directions and property boundaries, check weather and solunar info .... for me that is good enough ....

Check out basemap. I may switch from on x next year. Hillclimb 2 works well for hunting on those slow days

I use HUNTSTAND. It has been very helpful and easy to use.

I use huntstand. Like it for the fact that I can turn my GPS on and my sister is able to monitor if I'm out in the wma longer than I should be. If I didn't have her download it she'd be calling me as soon as the sun started to set. She gets nervous due to how far I'll go in. I usually lose cell reception or will have very little reception.

I have used OnX, HuntStand, and now Basemap. OnX is great, but I don't like their plans. If you want to hunt just two states, for example, you have no choice but to pony up $100 for all 50 states.

I used HuntStand last year. The one feature they are missing is a "heads-up" type display mode where the map orients to where your phone is pointing.

Basemap has filled all of these gaps nicely. They are also currently running a 30% off which puts it at ~$21 for all 50 states. Plus, their wind direction animation looks pretty rad.

I used Huntstand years ago... The wind was not accurate. Accuweather was good, till IBM bought them. Weather underground was my next Goto... Till they met the same demise. I switched to an app called 'Windy' for wind forecasts... Pretty decent.

I had onX, but moved to basemap as it's cheaper. Both provide land ownership, boundaries, off line maps. I like some of each of these apps and have things I dislike.

I also have caltopo for geographic e scouting... They have a great color coding layer for terrain steepness which is more important for my western hunts.

Pretty much sums up part of why I'm on this forum. Love the different approaches and experiences.

Unfortunately Time2HuntLyte is no longer available for download but it's still supported and a nifty little app for weather and moon phase info. At least it is nifty if you follow the moon over/under theory, of which I am a believer.

Oh, and I only have that Remington serial number finder in case anyone comes across a bunch of them sitting on a lake bottom, that way I can figure out which ones were mine.

    Just in case.
