At least it’s not scheduled for the first week of November.

Going to be surprise year for me I hope. I have only checked 2 of my cameras I’ve had out since March. No good bucks so far. Hoping to get some stands put up Sunday it’s supposed to be nice after the storms pass through today. I have 2 ladder stands and a hang on I need to get up but the temps have been unbearable.

Haastyle, sorry that bites. I have four out of 12 of my grandchildren that were born in the last two weeks of August. Our bow hunt starts the third weekend of August. I told my boys they need to sleep in different rooms than their wives in December . Of course you can imagine how that went over
A week from tomorrow I will be hunting.

I'm probably going to get a big hole punched in my season this year.

I've had a small epigastric hernia for quite some time but it's never been a concern. Sometime in the last few months that changed. For some reason I thought I was having some serious digestive issues recently. I would eat a normal meal and I felt like I was going to burst. My upper abdomen would swell and I was just plain uncomfortable.

This past weekend we had a work party at our hunting cabin in Arkansas. I was lying on the couch taking a short nap and I had my hand laying across my stomach. My friend walked in and I went to sit up and that's when I felt it. An area from my sternum all the way to my navel bulged out.

I came home this morning, took a shower and went to the hospital. The doc examined me, did x-rays and blood work to make sure there was nothing more serious wrong. It's just the hernia, but like I said, now it's a huge epigastric hernia and now that's coupled with a small umbilical hernia.

I have an appointment for 09 September to see a general surgeon. I know the recovery period is 6 weeks minimum before I'm allowed to return to full activity. Of course, I would probably cheat on that.

I'm not in any real pain, but it is pretty uncomfortable after I've eaten or if I'm bending over to pick something up. If they say the surgery can't be done until something like October, I'm probably going to see if I can postpone it and just wear a hernia truss to get by until later.

    Damn Chief….you don’t cheat
You heal up 100% & then attack the snot out of them
Cheaters never prosper & prospers never cheat…unless it’s NASCAR then all bets are off

LittleChief sorry about your health problem. Listen to your doctor, take his advice about do's and don'ts. I know how important hunting is to you and hope you don't miss the whole season. Wishing you a fast and complete recovery.

Can you imagine chief sitting by the window, taking the screen off and measuring the distance from the window to the edge of the timber just outside.
Most people in the hospital want beer or food snuck in…chief will request his bow

Man Chief!!! That's a bummer! Hopeful that all goes well and you can get back to normal as quick as possible. As others said you may be able to snipe one of the hospital bed... I mean if the seek one productions guys shoot deer by business and hospitals all the time I'm sure you will be ready to rock
