I have a few straw bails left over from yardwork. I am shooting at 63 lbs and 29" arrow. Will the straw work? Will the arrow go through, tear fletching, etc.

    Thank you in advance
    Ken

You are going to lose fletching and still be looking for arrows. I started using a stall mat for a backstop, have only needed it once but it worked like a charm. I purchased mine from a Tractor Supply store, I am sure any farm supply store would carry them.

Sorry but no your arrow going roughly 250ft a sec will blow right through a bale.

Another cheap approach is the carpet wall. It cost 40 and some effort but lasts forever

If you want a movable back stop find a portable clothes rack.or make a wooden type if you have scraps. Then hang a carpenter piece cut to size and hang it from the top rail.

I've been a pretty good carpenter for a long time, but I'm not sure what a "carpenter piece" is, Ma'am.

    (Don't you just hate autocorrect?)

Yes yes I do and it can't be turned off on this devise. You should see the wild stuff I catch! Problem is it "corrects" words I spell correctly. Sometimes it even adds entire sentences to those words as well.
    Carpet piece. Lol
This is actually a devise I retired because of said problem. Though it's replacement lost the ability to be charged so I'm back to rewriting posts a few times before and after posting...yes, yes I'm cheap.
