Dang Brett, hate to hear that. Best of luck in a speedy recovery. FYI, I did physical therapy after a bad ankle break and surgery and regained 100% mobility. I recommend it if it comes to that.

I’m glad it’s not going to require surgery Brett.

    Heal up quick.

Hope you’re having a good day out there. I towed my boat to my brother’s house in Flippin, AR yesterday.

We both fished Bull Shoals for the first time ever and caught quite a few fish but only one keeper.

I did catch my first ever walleye. It was 17 1/2” and the limit here is 18”.

    Oh well.

We’re going to try again in the morning.

This morning was a better morning. I ended up catching around 10 fish but only three keepers. I caught a 15” Spotted Bass, a 19” Largemouth and a 22” Walleye.

We left the lake at around 11:30 and I filleted the fish for my brother and then made the trip home.

All in all it was a good trip.

I try to do 2 1/2 mile hikes up on the mountain 3 to 4 times a week. This morning I came across this guy. He is one of the bigger rattlers I have come across.

I've never seen a rattlesnake in my life. I've always wanted to.

    Okay guys.

I'm probably going to order a new Mathews V3 27".

I'm kind of tired of camouflage bows and I kind of like the idea of either "stone" or black. I'm thinking all "stone", but all black is pretty cool.

Or, would a combination of stone/black on the limbs/riser look decent? I can't really tell with the bow build function on the Mathews website.

I always thought I wanted camo, but when I found my E32 for the deal I got I found out I love black and honestly don't see myself going to a camo bow ever again.

    I know what you mean.

I believe I'm going to go with all "stone". The cams, rest, sight, string and dampers will be all black so it should look pretty cool.

I also plan to go with 65# instead of the 60# I currently shoot, and I'm also going to switch from 100 grain inserts to 50 grain inserts on the arrows. I should get more speed and a bit flatter trajectory while still giving me a decently front heavy arrow in the 450-480 grain range.

I just called Mack's Prairie Wings in Stuttgart, AR to try to order a new V3 27. He said that due to Covid it would be around 8 weeks and I said okay and started telling him what I wanted.

When I told him he said "I have that bow here now" and I replied "I'll take it". He has to check and see if he has the 29" draw mods for it and if he does or he can get them I'll be getting a new bow this week.

I'm going to add the new QAD Ultrarest Integrate to it and since Spot Hogg is backlogged I'm going to take the Fast Eddie XL 2 pin off my Heli-m and put it on the new bow. I'll add another sight to the Heli-m later. I'll also need a quiver and a dozen or so arrows.

Yep, I'll be heading to Mack's Prairie Wings on Friday. They have the 29" mods, the QAD Ultrarest Integrate MX and the black ArrowWeb quiver in stock.

What they don't have is my Gold Tip Velocity Pro arrows in stock and neither does Gold Tip, so I'll have to find another arrow that is in the ball park of 8.8 grains per inch with a 300 spine. I'm sure they'll have something there.

Glad to hear you’re healing up.

After three more weeks of not working you may not want to go back.
