Has anyone used the Army new OCP pattern ? And if so, what did you think?

If you sit still, the camo you wear makes zero difference.

Then why do all the big names hunters use special gear.... It's like you think they are trying to profit off us.

    Separate tech from camo.

Good gear and materials (merino, treated down, some synthetics, nylon, dyneema, etc) can help make time afield more comfortable... It comes at a price and generally with plenty of tradeoffs. This is a big part of a lot of gear cost by some brands.

Fletch is right to a degree on solids, sometimes it doesn't matter, much. But some camos also are effective and come at a price too (IP, R&&, Marketing, licensing, etc).

There is also the notion of what price the market will bear...

    To the OP, sorry bud.

I will say this, and remember humans eyes and perceived sight works vastly different than an animal, but when the army was running ACUs which work only in a rock quarry Apache pilots could pick joes out super easy all over afghan mountain sides. When they went to multicam or what they are calling ocps now, it was a night and day difference. The pilots struggled to find them.

One problem with ocps is they aren’t the quietest and aren’t set up to be quiet with velcro everywhere.

I've used Realtree (bass pro stuff), Skre, ScentLok and some gerneric stuff I bought from Academy and found it really doesn't make a difference. As long as you try to match the area you are hunting in and keep scent free you'll have deer walk right under you and wouldn't notice you were there.

    Best camo...
Sitting still and paying attention to the wind.
