I'm still figuring things out...I watched the farmers hand doing tests in the clover field next door. How I don't know the ground is frozen solid. But he trucked up.a 4 wheeler and went from spot to spot and stopped. This makes me think corn could be a possibility this spring. Also wonder if the clover yeilds were down it's usually in Longer than two seasons. I plant based on what they do. Woods cutting will start after all appointments are ckeared next week I have some hang ons to build. I will also head to camp and do a couple of "secret" stands there. I want to get a bunch of scouting in down there. Prices help a lot in making seed decisions.

I most likely won't be doing anything in the woods or field until March. I've got other things to attend to that will keep me busy until then.

Started cutting a access trail to the back of the property. Right now I can't get back there with atv. Will make deer retrieval alot easier!

That's The name of the game this time of year. I try to make my paths straight as possible then I'll throw a stand on one end and watch the whole thing on bad wind days

I already have 99% of my clearing done, all of the trails cleaned up, trees picked out and shooting lanes trimmed. All that’s left is the plot work and get at least one box blind built this year. I love the work just as much as hunting.

Now through March will be busy. Outside of planting, it’s the best time for prep.

At my farm we’re just gonna clean some areas up and plant trees this year. Keep the clover mowed, I don’t think we’re adding any foodplots. Pretty much have the layout the way we want it.

But one of the guys in my groups dad just bought a new 98 acre farm that we’re going to help setup. We’ve taken 2 trips down so far.

Worked Friday on the farm. Ripped out a bunch of fence for the new field access being put in next week. Hiked to the back corner of my place, a neighbors controlled burn had gotten a bit out of hand early this spring, but cleared off some really nice grass area for a food plot. Gonna spray it next week and y
    Then broadcast into there.

Then I set up a few camera surveys with mineral licks. Cut some easier access trails through old fence.

Getting ready to disc and then plant my grass screens and hopefully some apple trees, and then food plots.

Could we set up a permanent sticky live from land management thread? I think it would be neat to see what everyone is doing?

That would be cool for sure. All summer long I post little 2-3 minute videos of what I’m up to. Today I’m heading out to brush hog my old screening and finish up my watering hole projects for spring.

That clover seed is purdy tough. I'll bet it'll be fine.

I see about 300.00$ in lumber in that stand so far:bigcry:

Lumber prices have sucked for the last 2 years, I have 1123.57 into it. Treated plywood is the killer at almost 50$ a sheet, just stupid.
