Been in KS the last few days shed hunting and hanging with my kids. Get back to MI and found an early birthday present in the driveway. New to me fishing boat. Pretty nice surprise. 1605 Lowe with a 25hp Merc. Aside from no power at the fishfinder everything else is checking out.

    She done good 20210322_184229.jpeg 20210322_184649.jpeg

Have never seen the cheese curls... only the pretzels. Of which I am not a fan.

Survive a 100 person layoff last year, take a temporary pay cut (which was paid back), and now got word I will be getting a 15.32% raise. Outside of taking this job and receiving a pay raise, I have never received one this large. Feeling so blessed during these incredibly tough times. Someone is looking down on me.

For the last 9 years I’ve been looking for a decent condition Marlin 39A lever action 22 that was made before Remington took over. Finally got it!

People always talk about how Chicago is a great food town.
Insider secret- it's $hit. There isn't anything you can find in Chicago that you can't find in any other mid-big city. At least since the Berghoff shut down.

That being said, I do generally prefer Chicago pizza to any other pizza with one exception- Detroit style square pan pizza.

But even for that, it has to be Connie's mid-weight, which is similar to the other bigger name's deep dish except about half as thick and it has cheese on top. I hadn't had it in probably 5 years, but tonight I said F it and made the 30 minute drive to the closest Connie's.

Lord is it good. I ordered a medium and it weighs almost 5 pounds, and you can bet your ass I am eating the whole thing by myself and drinking about a sixer of High Life to boot. Sometimes you just gotta say F it. F it gives you freedom.

Biggest factor as to why it's the best- the sauce. Bold and hearty, not sweet like ketchup.

    Enjoy the pie and beer.

Italian beef, good steaks (MR warm center), dep dish, very high end meals (Alinea, a couple others) and a good variety of authentic ethnic food are what I seek out in Chi.

I tend to agree that Chi Town is not a culinary mecca that people make it out to be. However, the butchers and deli shops are some of the best.

Personally, I'd rather eat a brand new paper plate than have to go to Chicago for anything. But that's just me....

I would rather have a beer and a hot dog at Wrigley.

I would also put a ton of ketchup on the hot dog and tell any chicagoan that pops off about it I will tell to go to hell.
