I am thinking about going with three degree helical on a set of Vap TKO or EastonAxis, anybody running this set up? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
what length vane ? ..... if you can get good contact of the whole base, glue it .... helical is good, but skinny shafts can limit the amount used .. on my Velocity GT's(full size carbon) using a AZ Mini Max jig and GT 2.75 inch vanes (wide base), I get one heck of a helical ...
Thanks very nice. I have been using 2” blazers. Pro shop advised me 3* helical will create a noise factor,if hunting could be a problem. I have never heard that. ??? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
these are quiet, as they are really stiff, no flapping in flight .. ... the wide base helps with adhesion ... GoldTip Fusion X vanes/2.75" . .... even a straight offset would work on skinny shafts, just check for full vane contact front and rear .. .. .. I have shot Blazers for many years, still have about 4 dozen vanes, tried these GT's and really like 'em ..
Thanks I wondered about the noise comment from the pro shop Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I've read many posts from people about Blazer vanes being pretty noisy in flight in comparison to other vanes. Vane noise during arrow flight can be a whole argument...err...discussion among some people. Many feel that deer will react to it. I had an old set of arrows that had Blazer vanes, shot 3 elk with them and a couple turkeys, but elk don't tend to react like whitetail do.
Thanks My set ups are 20-30 yards think I will stay with Blazers and maybe experiment with 3* helical. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
