Pretty good day in SD. First shed I found was the biggest whitetail I’ve ever found. Measured at 79 inches. Up to 24 on the year.
While cutting some brush yesterday, I found a 3 and 4 point right behind my cabin. Snow is mostly gone now so gonna spend the day really looking.

Met a gal that lives about 3 miles away a few weeks ago. Real nice and good looking to boot! She asked about coming with. SURE! We spend about ⁴ hours tromping my woods. Only found ⁴ which surprised me. I really thought it was gonna be good. Anywhoo, she found 1, her first ever and was tickled pink. Twas a good day. Found the matching set of the buck I wanted to kill. Maybe only 135" but an old timer. Try for pics tomorrow.
I just left the first property and picked up 5. 4 are fresh and 1 old. 3 of them are spikes. Having problems posting pics from phone, so will try later. Now will be going to a new property within the next hour. Taking the whole family with me on this one, so may not get alot of walking in, lol. Hoping my oldest finds her first shed, she's really excited and wants to find one.

I swear to God, them bigger bucks sheds must have wing. I've had more decent/good bucks this year then in the past 12. Amazing how we can spot a 40" shed but the ones bigger just vanish?
5 more I couldn’t agree with you more. Been shed hunting for years and probably have close to a thousand sheds found; yet every year I have 140-160 inch deer on camera in the fall and winter yet all I seem to find is little 4-5 points and almost never find the big ones. I’ve only found one side of target bucks a handful of times as well and yet I find spikes. I even found a 1 inch shed this year. How can I find these and not the jumbos?!?! And then this year I found this biggest shed of my life and have never seen him on camera! And that one was in a spot that has almost no cover. It’s perplexing but it does keep my coming back for more. Hope you find some big ones soon.
