Who on here uses string walking? I'm interested as I am heading down the bare bow route. Came across the particular string walking tutorial 2 days ago. I started to practice straight away then and today I produced, to my great amazement, good groups over 15m. I think I'm going to stay with this method but wonder if it is any good for hunting? Interested what people on here think of this method of shooting?

String walking has been around a while and it's effective in some cases. Does not work well for hunting where animals are on high alert, or you only have a moment to make a shot (and you're calculating... walking up/down the string). Short distance/effective range, it's a bit of a moot point.

For those quick shots or high string animals, knowing point on and hold off, works better for an instinctive snap shot... Down size here is time /practice to learn instinctive shooting.

I thought so, but apparently it works for some people like myself. However, I can't bowhunt here in the UK. Would like to have a go though.

You should try a fixed crawl technique. Check this video:

    From 01.05.36.
...and you will never ask how to set your multipin bow sight anymore.

I watched the above film, and yes, a fixed crawl sorts out a lot of problems found in string walking. Thank you for linking the video, much appreciated.
