Just a quick hello and to say that, one day, I might be able to hunt with a bow, however, we're not permitted to bowhunt in England. Even though, managed to shoot a rabbit once. Done my bit of pheasant, Partridge and snipe shooting. Had a bad back for a decade but feel much better now and started target practice and soon 3D field archery.
welcome aboard... for England to outlaw archery hunting is a tragedy. So much history of the bow and arrow in England. what big game is actually in England these days?
We have mostly got roe deer where I live, just south of the scottish border. However, if I'd go across to the west or into the scottish Highlands there are lots of red deer which you can stalking for but with a rifle only. So for me it's fishing for salmon and once in a while a run around the fields with a shotgun for rabbits, pheasant and pigeons
Actually no, but it sure helps if you have lots of spare cash. I could apply for my fire arms license and probabluy get one. But it would be better if you can prove that you have lots of permissions or own land. I have the shotgun license only.
Welcome. Jump on in with any questions you have. The British bowhunters association may be a great resource too, if you're not already connected. I've got a few friends across the UK who hunt Europe and the states from time to time (when we aren't in a pandemic)...
