When should you give up on tracking a deer?

Late response. I just started tracking wounded deer this year under United Blood Trackers. We have been on 12 tracks and recovered 4 deer (30-33% recovery rate is average believe it or not).

I would say next time you lose blood, mark it and call a dog. I have my dog with me (in the truck) every time I go out. The more people that grid search, the greater chance you’ll contaminate the scent and/or bump the deer as already mentioned
