I trying to take a half day tomorrow to hunt the evening and will probably hunt Saturday. I'm really making a push to get 1 more deer for the year. It's getting down to the wire! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Season has three days left. I’m gonna be back home late tomorrow, leaving me Saturday and Monday as my last chances to fill a tag. Maybe it’s a bit premature. But time to start thinking about next year! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’m up for the evening, looking for a doe! Awfully nice for mid January, it’s 46* and partly cloudy, screwed on a muzzy trocar HB to hopefully test out.
2021 is gonna drag ass till hunting season, got a trip to Iowa booked. If I was going next week it would be too far away.
I'm not sure I believe me Wind is the worst possible direction being SW and gusty. One stand was good for that, the one I hung in 2011, but it has 9 year old straps on it, no way I'm going to test them out Will only be a morning hunt no matter which day I get out.
You will like it. They are Destroyers of Deer. 2015, 48 yard shot from the ground- he made it maybe 70 yards snowplowing about the last 30: As he lay (nearside/entry): unadulterated entry: Exited chest cavity and broke/buried into offside leg: What you don't see is that it also punched through that nearside humerus, taking out a huge chunk of it without actually snapping the bone in 2. Actually if you zoom way in on the entry close up you can see the ragged edge of bone. That entry hole was about the size of a golf ball. Don't drag me on the shot distance, it was in fog and I thought he was a lot closer. I got lucky he saw the lighted nock and dropped right into it which is how it broke both humerus.
Good lawd! That’s great to see, I’ve been a ride or die slick trick guy. A part of me wants the deviation of a mech with the quality of a fixed, so here I am.
i shot another doe this morning but forgot to get any pics. i might try one more time for a buck on saturday but not sure yet.
Today is the last day of the season in MO. I'm working from home. We'll start with the off season food program tomorrow for the deer. May start this evening depending on how much snow we get here. Good Luck, everyone!! It's been a blast following along and chatting with all of you!!
I up and hunting! I scouted my way in and all fresh sign leads exactly to the spot I had that encounter with that white footed doe. Got into different tree this evening. One that's bigger and covered in vines and thorns, lots of cover. I have almost the same wind and weather, just a bit warmer today. Only 50 yards from there bed. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Thanks guys! There has been a buck in here this past week. All the scrapes in the area are opened back up and I followed a nice rub line that was made this week. Doubt the buck is still in here, but you never know! Saw at least a dozen new rubs. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
