My last deer, last year, I carried /dragged somewhere around 1.5-2 miles... A deer cart or sled is on my watch/buy list... My opening offer for such a high mileage rig needing new rubber is $20 and a case of beer.
For anyone wondering about the shot placement on that doe, yes, it was right through the shoulder blade but it was a full pass through and she didn’t go far with this damage. That Slick Trick ate her up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Alright I'm up for the evening! I was rushing to get here. I didn't plan on sitting this spot today, but the wind was great to sneak in here. Not much for sign, but sitting over a known bed. It's only 40 yards away. Let's see who's home today! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I’m set up for the PM sit. I moved about 200 yards south. This tree is pretty open so I’m 35 feet up.
Nothing for me tonight. Didn't see a thing. Think that's about 4 sits in a row now with zero deer. I will keep plugging along til I find them. I want just one more for the year. Time to go back after that white footed doe if she made it through all the guns seasons. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I didn't see a thing either, but that didn't really surprise me after all the activity in there this morning. My move was really focused on tomorrow morning. Every buck I've seen move through there has funneled to a creek crossing 30 yards from the tree I was in this afternoon. I'll hunt there tomorrow morning and then I'll haul my stand out and make a move on the green field where I saw all the does the other day. The wind is finally supposed to change and I'm glad. I'm sick of that cold NNE wind.
No. Last time the wind was ENE and I sat the north edge. Tomorrow afternoon the wind is supposed to be out of the west and I have a tree picked out in the east side. The deer primarily come from the S or SW and the wind has been N or NNE the last four days.
It will be interesting to see how they approach the field with a different wind. You may not see them til after dark. Or they come in like normal business. Keep us posted! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
If I kill one in the morning at my prime spot I won’t even hunt tomorrow afternoon. I don’t want to tag out in one trip.
