Went out this morning, we’ve got a front moving through today like most of y’all. Was 43 at 5am, supposed to be 24 at 6pm! Wind SE at 20 mph. Saw one coon. I’m not dialed in of late season food this year for some reason. Not giving up yet. Might have to break out the Fanatic gear from here on out.
Normal year for this date is... deer are stacked up into winter feeding areas (yarded), not this year. We were brown until today. Deer are still scattered in their normal home ranges. While it is fun hunting late season and seeing LOTS of deer, it can be tough. Just to many eyes n ears.
Even if I don’t see anything, it’s still a great evening. Can’t think of anything I’d rather be doing.
I like that spot. A 65 year old lady friend is sitting in a ladderstand 150 yards away. 7* out. She's tough!
It’s 20 with a slight NW breeze. Picture was SW, bean fields about 100 yards east of me. Three creek crossing and I’m on the middle one.
What the heck. My lady friend didn't see a deer this sit even though the woods were alive this morning? Full moon?
Well, sorry guys, I’m done for this season. Camo washed, stands pulled and truck cleaned out. Not taking broadheads off yet, may have an out of state hunt in the near future. I apologize for not taking a doe earlier to add 50 points to our score.
Hey man, we had fun as a "TEAM ". Was a good time win-lose or draw. I want to thank you all for the fun. I had a giant come by the other day while the hounds were chasing a coyote. Guessing a 180ish type? I did put the bead (shotgun) on his shoulder and said "bang" I'm glad season is over and tag is punched or I'd go broke trying to get him.
