    No, no, no! "Bonus buck" meaning one that showed up later in the season. This one was my number one target buck until the big 10pt with split G2's showed up in mid-November. He's still out there for my son or son-in-law to take with a rifle.

    Just got back from the processor with the head. Scores in a bit.

    Well guys I hit a doe this morning. The shot was good up and down, but it was a touch back. I watched her bed twice and haven't seen her move since. I'm still going to sit and hope a buck shows up now. I will update you all shortly.

    Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

    When do your seasons come to a close?

    Here in the North zone of Texas the season for bucks closes January 3. A "special late" season continues until January 17. During that time we can shoot does and spikes.

    On the 2nd I put my son-in-law in the stand I shot my buck from. I'd been hoping to connect with this deer, but settled for the one I shot.

    The young man got the job done and I'm up for father-in-law of the year![​IMG][​IMG][​IMG]
