I'm on doe patrol per land owner request. Have yet to see an adult one.

In the right areas it is nice. No one is out hunting dogs yet and the pressure is low. It is lower then normal when the highs in sept reach mid 90s. Bugs are horrible as well. It can be worth it though but you have to put up with much more then many other states I have hunted. I will say here early season is usually the best time to tag a doe or buck early on due to them being on a summer pattern for most of the month making them easy targets.

I haven’t seen anything yet and at this point I won’t shoot one. I don’t feel like doing a night recovery and getting one skinned.

I’ll leave my gear in the tree when I get down and come back in the morning.

    Grrrrrrr
Neighbor got me again! 5:10 and the does were headed to the plot, with bucks in tow. Neighbor decides to walk the dog!! Really 20 minutes before the end of shooting light.

Just popping in to say that I miss sitting in the stand. It’s impossible for me to go sit in a stand in freezing temps when I’ve already got a buck and I can just go sit in a fish house. We only eat one deer a year as a family. I’ve been following along with the thread (like a real thread manager should do ). Congrats to everyone who has killed!

Let’s get some, Chief! I’m locked in, sweaty, cooling down after the uphill climb and getting up the tree. Beautiful morning , a little foggy, it feels like a killing day

Same here. I’m down and back at the house. I really expected movement this morning.

I’m gonna give it another half hour, then go take a break. I plan on going to the opposite end of the property for the afternoon.
I’m gonna take the climber and just wander around like an idiot until I find a suitable tree :deer:

Got my bow back yesterday and shot new arrows this morning. All sighted in. My groups weren't perfect tight but they were consistent and most importantly my broadheads hit right on top of my fp’s. Soooo..... off to the woods i go. I should be able to hang and hunt in just enough time for the evening.
