My oldest son got his first deer last night. It was a quartering away gut shot that broke the offside shoulder but somehow missed the lung. We ended up giving it four hours before recovering. I went to bed after midnight last night after the delayed recovering and quartering it for the ice chest. I butchered about half of it today. I will finish the rest tomorrow.

It won't count for the contest since it was with a rifle, but, I punched a tag on a doe Sunday night. At least I am not eating tag soup this year. I will get back to bowhunting after Christmas.

I saw your son's deer on IG. Congrats!! And don't worry about the contest. We still have time. Just glad to hear you didn't eat tag soup this year

I didn't get much bow hunting done the rest of archery season here in MT due to increased work hours, but me and my son tagged out with a total of 6 deer in the freezer (rifle season) so no tag soup this year at least. Wife never could get closer than 75 yds to any decent shooter bucks either. Next year all 4 of us will be hunting and we are trying real hard for elk next year. Sorry I couldn't contribute to the team points this year fellas. But looks like others had some great kills.

Well guys, I apologize for being gone at the end of the contest. I see that we finished second in the standings. Congrats to all the guys that filled freezers and made memories this last season. It was an honor being on this team with you guys!

It was a great season, best finish I have had on a team in the six years I have done the contest. It was fun. Sorry I didn't contribute any points. Although, with the run Team 12 went on, I would have had to put down a 200" buck and a doe to take the lead back. I hope you guys all have a better 2021 than 2020. If any of you guys ever feel like hunting Arkansas, reach out to me and I will help point you to some could public land pieces. Arkansas is slowing losing its reputation as a sleeper state for deer.
