image.jpg I keep saying I am going to bring my rifle out, but there is something special about sitting in a tree with a bow

Been setup for about 30 min, nothing yet. Lots of wind, rain was supposed to come in but got pushed back, these deer need to get in my freezer.

Past two days the same group of does has came by my stand and I’ve saw the same small 4 pointer 3 days in a row. I haven’t shot any of them. I’ve wanted to save them for tomorrow my dad is gonna hunt that stand with me cuz we always hunt Thanksgiving morning. He gets to hunt maybe 3 times a year now cuz of work. I hope he gets him one with his 308 In the morning. He’s not picky so we’ll see..... I’m excited for him for sure.

I’m done. I did see a wide buck around 4:15PM, but he was just feeding in the thick stuff. Ran out of light, but I didn’t spook him leaving.
Wish I could have gotten a better look at him.

I saw that buck this evening in the spot I always envision seeing one come from, except he didn't travel much at all. He just browsed around in the same spot until it got dark. When I first saw him, the first thing I noticed was his width, but I never got a good side view of his rack. I believe he might have been a shooter. He was definitely the biggest I've seen so far this season.

I'm hoping he's a local since he spent time there, as apposed to just cruising through. I've actually seen more bucks than doe in my area so far this season.

Best evening in a while. Seen one buck chasing a doe and a few other does.
Back at it in the AM.

I snuck up on 7 doe, couldn’t get any close than 120, 4 walked off the opposite direction but one walked to me about 35/40 yards, too bad I didn’t have enough light to make a shot. I could have taken a shot, but I would have shooting at a silhouette, so no go tonight. I’ll be back at it Friday morning.

I somehow missed this post in all the chaos yesterday. My 45-70 is thick and sexy, but it's an 1895, not a 336. Heavier frame to handle a heavier load, and that girl fits the profile for my gun perfectly. I could go on and on with this but there was a reason I said I'd leave that pic alone.
