I get it. This is my last week off for the year. Good Luck! Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I’ve been set up since 30 minutes before first light. Just before daylight I had an unknown deer walk by, hit the Ozonics stream and track it to my tree. That was it until just a minute ago when a half rack 6 trotted by. It would be nice to see something a little bigger.
Been fairly active, so far. Does and fawns. Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I was hoping that when that amorous little buck trotted into the wood patch he would chase out a big doe, but nothing happened.
depending on weather, I will be at it Friday in SW Michigan. Just don't know if I will take the .44 carbine or crossbow. Would take a pretty nice buck for me to punch a tag.
just for clarity; is a 'half-rack six' sporting 3 on the intact side (would be a typical 6) or sporting 6 but would be a 12?
I didn't get on the stand until 730 ish but I'm here now. Been kind of lazy about posting here for a while but nothing exciting anyway. Good luck! I've seen nothing. Again. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

I’m going to sit for another 20 minutes or so and then I’m going to get down and go look at a new spot. The farmer whose land I hunt has two adult sons a bit younger than me. One of them gun hunts and isn’t the nicest guy in the world (that opinion was built on totally non-hunting related experiences) and he doesn’t want me gun hunting anywhere I normally bow hunt. I can live with that. The other son doesn’t hunt and he told me to come hunt his own 40 acre place that no one else hunts. I told him I’d be there at 10:00.
40 acres that no one else hunts and a nice invitation? Something tells me it won't take long to fill the buck tag.
I was in the blind and didn't feel talkative I guess. My dad also used to say "colder than a well digger's a**" a lot. From hearing him say it so much, I use it often my own self. I've never heard it to reference dark, it's always in reference to cold around here.
First time I haven't had the week of Thanksgiving off in several years. That is the best full blown chase phase week here. Had to be at work this year, just way too short handed right now. I'll be out Thursday morning for a bit before the Holiday get together begins, then taking the wife out Friday, and likely all day Sat and Sun if we still have tags. I think I'll be exclusively carrying the caplock, it's getting down to the wire. She'll be using her rifle. If I haven't gotten one by the Dec. 1 close date, then there is a late archery only season in a unit 2 hours away. That one is a lot of fun, every single deer in a huge area all migrate out of the mountains down to a lower elevation that has a lot of meadows. I'll get some migration trails pics for you guys, it is incredible. There's also still a weekend coming up that I can late muzzleloader elk hunt. My freezer is clear out of elk, it'd be really nice to add some more.
Remind me not to leave the thread for more than 3+ days. Just got up on a lot of pages. Congrats to everyone who harvested. Got the trimmings from my buck made into jalapeno summer sausage and sticks this weekend. I still haven't made it out with my bow since I got my buck. Not sure if I will either. Lakes are starting to freeze and we have more than enough venison to last us until next year (only 2 of us eat it). Good luck to those still grinding away!
The does and fawns were it. Heading in to replace batteries in the golf cart and 4 wheeler. Cold weather will let you know all the problems you have. lol
Its been less than a week since first archery ended here and it feels like its been months since I've been hunting Rifle season starts here Saturday and ill be out with my bow battling the orange army!
