Well I missed a 3 point this morning. Had a 12-14” spike on one side and big fork on the other. First deer I’ve had a shot at with the bow in 3 years. Oh,well. Better than wounding one

Hey guys ive come soooo close. Had 3 really good bucks come in range in the last 2 days and just can’t get it done. Main culprit, the Does! They’re either busting me or leading the bucks straight away. As usual females are the root of my problems haha! I’ve been passing on does and mainly buck hunting but that will all change in a little while. Should get a few more hunts in after shotgun season then it’s work for 20 days straight. Late season is usually good for me so I’ve still got plenty of season left. Hope everyone else’s seasons going good

Well gents I sat this morning til 9 not seeing anything. Hit my creek side stand at 11 and a big boy was courting a doe. So I hit the black rack and all it did was piss him off. I watched them lay down gave it an hour and smacked those antlers again. He came right in at 30 yds. I sent an arrow at 1235 this afternoon. Been a tough season with the warm weather in Southern Illinois. Hes a bruiser and has some broken tines. But all in all great buck no doubt. I hit him front of the shoulder slightly turned towards me as he spotted me in the tree so I sent it!........gonna give it a few and go track him. I watched him crash and didn't hear anything after, just playing it safe!

    Oh yeah! Good luck!

If only we would have downed a handful of does we’d be right in this thing!

Yeah crazy track job. Not one drop of blood but I heard him crash. Walked around for an hour and stumbled on him. He died immediately which I'm grateful for and he's a story to remember. I'll punch some does and another buck after Illinois gun season see if we can't put some more points on the board. I'll score and take some different pics of him when daylight arrives shortly.

Well I posted in this in the LFTS but just had an encounter with a big buck and long story short he hung up and didn’t like something, blew and walked off. Biggest deer I’ve ever seen from the stand. On what might be my last sit til late season, this one really hurts.

We can still kill some does. I’ve been slacking on getting my score sheet from the farm to enter my buck (keep forgetting). I will get it done soon.

Need to switch to Miller Lite. It helps with memory a lot. In fact, Michael Jordan drank Miller Lite

I’m going to get back after it when we get another cold front. It’s been really warm and all I can think about is buying a new dirt bike.

Great job guys! I’ve been slacking had a few really great encounters. Had a monster 8 pointer at 24 yds and I didn’t shoot cause it was brisket shot. I’ve just never had good luck with that shot. I’ll start wacking does late December. Might get a hunt around thanksgiving weekend if I don’t have to work.
