My nightmare continued tonight, so I moved 112 yards east of my ladder stand, so at 5ish something caught my eye down by my other stand. I see a big body deer then it walked towards my stand and all I saw was this white rack. I can't win!!!!!!
Congrats @picman and @Ranbo thats an old stud right there. @pastorjim08 glad you went back and your week turned around. @Swamp Stalker hold your head up minus a kill you had a heck of a year. Beside we have to keep your cheery attitude up to brighten up the forum.
I sat in my blind since 530 this morning. Legal shooting hours tonight ended at 513. At 508 a good buck came in and stood broadside at 70 yards. It's our gun season so I had my muzzleloader with me. The rack was passed his ears and looked good. I just couldn't tell if he was mature enough. I haven't shot any bucks on this farm 3 1/2 or younger in over 10 years. It was a damn hard pass and I'm still not sure I should have.
I'll have to talk to Fitz to see if we can still enter this in the 2016(?) contest. Congrats! Guessing the child is old enough for a bit more Nov. hunting
Accidentally opened facebook. A year ago today I still had some sort of big buck/small buck perception Was going to go out in the morning, heard something outside and muted the TV only to hear the wind howling. Wasn't supposed to be at this time yesterday, so looks like I am done until Turkey day.
Is anybody in Southern Illinois that could help my brother look for a buck? LP Dolan Lake area. High hit with little blood and rain just went through. I sent him tracking dog info.
