Got in stand a little over an hour ago. Bumped a big 10 on the way in. Never blew just trotted off so hoping he stays in the area. Also I’ve had does around me the entire time. When one walks off another one comes in and starts milling around.

Wow, that sucks. See what those cams do for you? Hey, at least you know you have a good one in the area. That would be enough to keep me coming back!
I'm waiting for the rain to quit, I'll at least be able to hunt the afternoon.

Rain has stopped for now. So warm and toasty. I put a hand warmer in my neck gaiter on the back of my neck...why did I never think of this before?!!

Well, my son was right about the shot. Ridgerunner found the arrow. It was as close as you can come to a clean miss without missing. A few hairs on the broadhead, a smear of fat on the first 4.5" of arrow and just a hint of blood. I told him to nock another arrow and keep hunting. I took the arrow he'd shot and Eric and I headed back to camp.

That boy as already accomplished something I've never been able to: Kill two deer in the same trip here in Mark Twain National Forest.
