I'm telling you, back is best, you miss forward and you do not crack that joint knuckle. My shot was a touch back from where I was aiming, but still didn't make it 40 yds. I will never understand this "V" infatuation, aim small miss small, I guarantee those bucks ain't any deader than mine. I'd say if 80% of hunters aimed back 4" from the "V' lost deer would drop exponentially. My last deer lost, a doe in I believe '16, was trying to aim tight to the shoulder because I thought I could manage it with a crossbow. Hit forward and never recovered, I'll never aim that tight to the leg again, unless it is a quartering away and I'm aiming offside leg for exit.
Saw a good one across the corn field about 40 minutes ago. Working scrapes. Hoping he makes it over here before dark.
Just had this guy chip shot 15. No more buck tags. Pretty much twin brother of my buck from this AM. So I just shot his prom date instead.
Looked and felt good. Nock didn't light tho and don't see arrow. She was 25 quartering away looked mid body exit line would be offside shoulder. I'm covered in deer tonight holy crap another buck grunting behind me
Of course you are, you already filled your buck tag That's why I bought another one today, now I am guaranteed not to see squat lol
Lot of deer movement here tonight! And officially, this 40 is now mine!! And I have a new bow sight!!
About to climb down and start the track. But still have deer below me. Asked my partner to drive my truck over here push them away. save me a walk and they don't seem to spook long term from it at all
Well boys I may have blown my only opportunity. It was getting close to end of legal light and I pulled my phone out to see exactly what time it was. I didn't see a buck standing about 50yds away and he caught my movement. He didn't freak out but he definitely changed the course he was on and skirted around me out of range. He was a definite shooter. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
