What I really want in my life right now is $1,000 taxidermy bill.

Yeah I seen that while catching up. Dark blood was throwing me off a bit, didn't say how fresh it was so thought maybe it had started drying up.

IMO it definitely exited in white hair, so depending on how hard he was quartering could be underside of chest belly or in the pit of opposite front leg. the Latter would be dead deer with maybe live single lung but may take a few hours for that liver to give.

Only deer I liver shot took about 3 hours for her to be immobilized but still had to break 2 more arrows trying to get a follow up shot. came up on her from opposite side unexpectedly and was thick so was trying to crouch and squeeze one in. Finally got it but was an expensive lesson.

Scariest walk out ever! Chest to head high grass boom coyote group howl like 100 yds or so... I felt it in my chest.

All packed and ready for tomorrow. I think I'll be in the same spot as Saturday. The goal is to make it until 1 pm. Gotta get home to the dogs after that.

So your season ends on the 17th, is there like a rifle/muzzle loader season that comes in after that? Trying to figure out what the heck goes on where you hunt

2, 2 week shotgun seasons, then a 2 week long muzzleloader season. Then, bonus archery season December 23rd, till January 3rd

OK, that makes a little more sense. Was trying to figure out how deer numbers were so sparse with such a short archery season ending during the breeding season.

The white hair indicates a low exit.
    Blood looks liver.
    Good luck.

Weird day/evening..seen 3 bucks from the cabin today. On the walk to the stand, a nice but young 5x5 walked in front of me. He did not see me and went into the back point.
Seen deer from the get go but just does n fawns then nuttn till almost dark.
About 15. 16 does came by and not a single buck?
Will hunt a,m. Then may peel out for a few days. I'm getting burnt out. Need a recharge.

Going to sit before work tomorrow, hung a stand a few weeks back with a buddy that’s pretty close to work, should be able to sit for an hour and a half, the stand is close to the main trail so I won’t be disrupting much on my walk out, next chance to get out will be Friday, it might be warm but it’s still November and I wanna be in a tree any chance I can!!

When someone makes a teaser post like this and then waits a while before following up, is that what you guys mean when saying someone is “pulling a Mike”?

Well my daughter and I have been hunting non stop morning and evening since Friday trying to get her her first deer .
And nothing.... not a single deer shows up for three days until this evening when there’s about 25 minutes of light left... I hear steps coming from the thicket and I tell my daughter” grab your bow”. Steps kept getting closer but he never showed himself until BAM he stepped outta the thick!!! A giant!! Cheyanne draw her bow and he gets to 23 yards and looks at us. No shot cheyannes is holding on draw waiting for him to turn... 3 minutes later he turns and she smokes him!!!!! So here he is boy my 15 yr old daughters very first deer and did it with a compound bow!!! Image1604974582.926949.jpg Image1604974593.084658.jpg Image1604974602.414484.jpg 218 lbs DRESSED
