Just had a spike come through perfectly... now just need a big boy to do that, he did work off the same way the doe went so maybe he’ll bump her back here

Had another doe move through. Far out. These bottoms were finished being logged last year and undergrowth is THICK. Out past 50 yds or so you can only see their heads. They have trails beat through it but so far nothing on trail I’m set up on lol

I’ve got a good lane if they cross this log road behind me

Been dead for 3 hrs. I feel like I need to move to find the action but I know this is a doe bedding area. I'm gonna rely on logic and sit here for awhile. Maybe take a 10 min rest here and there.

They're back. Mom at 50 and fawn at 10.

    Now the skank is blowing...

Thanks dnoodles. I bought her from a breeder and based on the timeline/incubation period of the virus, the vet thinks she had the virus when I got her. But we caught it early enough. it was a real B**** and expensive but shes a lot better. the University of Minnesota Vet Medical Center really did a good job. Now its back to hunting deer

At 10 ir so I'm getting down going back to truck and recharge and grab my lunch. Then heading to other side of property. It's a good 11/2 mile walk, so hopefully I will be alone this time. Going to scout and if I find something good on the way in, I will setup. Last year I did that and saw the biggest buck of the year. About the same time frame.

2 does and a fawn just ran out to the blowing skank. So 5 total within 60 yards. No shot...

Well that’s about all the little man can handle sitting still I think! Ha

He did well. We saw 3 bucks total 3 doe. All about 35 yards out - it was a great experience for him. He didn’t understand why I wasn’t shooting every deer that walked by lol

It's the biggest kick in the balls when it doesn't work and you see no deer. Does that help? Lol

Same with me. There’s stand of cypress trees behind me planted in rows that lead straight up to doe bedding. I’ve seen the bucks come into the wind right into those cypress rows to check it. I missed a giant one year and that’s what he was doing. All conditions are perfect. I have hour left to hunt today. A lot can happen in an hour

Nothing moving on this transition edge I’m in. Supposed to be 75 today....wife wants to go out for drinks and an early dinner. Might take her up on that offer.

    Apologies for the delay...
