Tired of countless sits with no bucks. Tomorrow morning I'm going out to stick a doe. How's the rut looking for you fellers?

Sign is up for sure. Probably made at night but such is life on pressured public. Gun season will change the game this weekend. I’ll be holed up on archery only property when the shooting starts.

Stick it out boys good things to come still! I was gettin there myself but then THIS HAPPENED! Was sittin last night and saw one comin down a trail at about 5:20, originally thought it was a doe but as it came a little closer I saw him stop and work a scrape and I knew it had to be a decent buck... he came in a little closer and looked like he was gonna walk straight by 50 yards out. I gave him a light grunt and he turn a little and started heading toward a gravity feeder I have set up at that stand at 30 yards from my tree. He got to about 5 or 6 yards from the feeder between two trees and I had to let fly... man he was hauling ass to get outta there but I really felt like I made a good shot. I waited a couple minutes got down and went over and found my arrow covered in blood, broadhead packed full of hair and immediately started walking back to the rhino. Swung by the stand I left my buddy in and got him we came back to house to get the trailer and went to go find him. The blood trail was definitely the worst I've had yet, it was dark as hell and we got all turned around. Ended up deciding to sleep it off and come back this morning. We picked up on the blood a lot better with some daylight and no more than 50 yards from where we stopped and got lost there he was... the 10 pointer I've been watching all summer. Can't believe I actually got him! He broke off one of his brow tines some time since the last time I've got his picture, maybe last night because he was booking it. Straight through one lung into the other and out the back corner. I'll measure sometime today or tomorrow probably but this is absolutely my biggest buck and I can't believe I put him down. This is the one I was after for sure! Even got some bark on his brows where he's been rubbing. What an 18 hours! [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Crossing my fingers that little mutt has stuck his foot in one of my traps so I can dispatch him from my property. I have 3 cellular cams out on that property and I have gotten one small doe on camera in the the 5 days since he showed up Saturday. Prior to his arrival every single one of those cameras were getting photos of multiple bucks and does on them daily. Hopefully it's not too late but I think if I can get him sunk in the river by tonight there will be enough time for things to start returning to normal before the rut really heats up.

What I meant to say is the dog that’s been ruining my hunting has been successfully sent to his forever home. Let the rut commence!!!!!

Thanks guys I still can't believe I actually got him. This is the first year I set my sights on a certain buck and then pulled it off. Talk about hard work paying off. I'm gonna try to score him today but honestly I'm not sure what to do about his broken brow tine? Do I just leave it a zero?

Ok so I got him all added up, I ended up just measuring to the top of where the tine broke off which definitely cost me an inch or so lol. But I accomplished my mission of breaking 100"! Came up to 121 1/4".[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Nice job Zblevins!

@Jonathan Barlar did you get a chance to score your buck yet and add it to the scorecard thread along with your doe?

I’m up. Firearm opener here in MN so I’m tucked into an archery only property. Another warm and windy weekend, but it’s November 7 and anything can happen!

Congrats! Zblevins! My fiance tested positive for Covid so i get two more weeks of hunting! Lol could have shot this guy moments ago but decided to let him walk. Waiting for a bigger one. Things are heating up here. Had a shooter last night come cruising in but couldn’t get him to stop. Good luck guys! Congrats again!

I'm cheating tonight fellas. Rotator injury is acting up so I'm playing it safe and looking for some flat heads for the freezer. I'm usually good to go after about a week. IMG_20201107_160721.jpeg
