Let's get some more does guys! Well done Ill!

I finally saw a decent buck from the stand tonight - he ignored my grunts. He wasn't the "big" one, but right now a mature deer is acceptable.

Ruby (my avatar) earned another gold star this morning when she tracked and found this mature buck deep in the Zekiah Swamp of Maryland - still alive 18+ hrs after the hit. Fortunately the bowhunter was able to put a finishing arrow in him.

My hunting has been non existent. I plan on hitting it hard the 3rd and 4th week of November here in Maine. I do not have a doe tag so I will not be able to contributethe 50 pts, hopefully I can score on a decent Maine buck.

My deer is posted. I had forgotten to get good pictures with my bow so I did them in the bed of my truck. Was way too tired to unload him and reload him haha.

I start my short "rutcation" on Saturday through Monday. Leaving tomorrow afternoon. Hunting some public land with a buddy in South Western WI. My dad will be along as well and will hunt his small property. Scouted very briefly the area I plan to go to but never hunted it. Its suppose to be very warm those three days so we will be comfy but may not see normal movement? Its still the rut and anything can happen! Good luck guys this weekend!

So I talked with my taxidermist the other night when I was going over what I wanted done with my mount and he asked if I’d like to have him back before I deploy the end of January! He said he’s going to push mine to the top of the pile to make sure I see him before I leave! I’m glad he’s doing that for me otherwise it would be December 2021 at the earliest before I get to see it.

No luck in finding my buck. I believe I hit high. Very little blood. We searched close to 2 miles. We just had specks of blood. He never bed. He stopped 2 twice with a spot the size of Half dollar. I had 2 friends , help and the deer went onto private property, I obtained permission to go over the line and the property owner came out and also to help track.

We all came to the conclusion that he is still alive. Not enough blood lost , the distance we tracked , grid search.

After am hunt I'm going to look for crows and vultures.

Ya it’s a tough pill to swallow. I was choking on that pill last weekend, glad it didn’t go down. I honestly cried a little when we found him. My emotions were all over!
