I'm almost positive I'm going with sitka. I think I'm going to buy a Sumnmit open shot top piece, weighs 5 pounds, and its my climbing method and platform all in one. That's the one thing that sucks about hunting in cold weather, you have to carry all the cold weather gear in!

I did just add the waist/kidney belt to my viper platform, (My old XOP TTS) and packed it all up to see how it was. It will work just fine!

Found time to get out the last 1.5hrs this afternoon in VT. 3" of fresh fallen snow, windy all day. Wind is down to nothing, 28 degrees. Grace is sitting over one food plot, I'm sitting over the other. Deer should be cold and hungry, hopefully they come in to eat.

Just thankful to be in a tree. Breezy, but not as blustery as yesterday. My brother smoked a doe this morning. Deer are chasing here, but haven't seen the big boys. Enjoy the early days of November.

    Congratulations on the does gentlemen.

Congratulations to everyone that’s filled a tag recently. I only work 2 days in the next 2 weeks so I’m hoping to do the same. Sat yesterday afternoon and only saw to doe and 2 small bucks. Today I jumped a big bodied deer that was bedded behind my stand but couldn’t tell what it was.

My buddy on the next property over is witnessing lockdown already. Ugh! He's currently watching an 8pt bedded watching a bedded doe. So many does here bucks don't have to move.

That's all my kills from this weekend so I don't go home with an empty freezer. Duh.

Well, I’m back on stand again.

My son in law killed a big doe about a mile farther back on the ridge than me. I asked if he needed help. Yep.

Down the tree I went and then back up that evil hill to my quad. Then I flew to camp, tossed the cart into my truck and flew back to where he was.

We got it loaded and then he dropped me off at my walk in point.

I was super-heated by the time I got set up again

That’s twice I’ve had to hike my old butt out of this valley to help him recover a deer.

I hear you with the bugs! It's supposed to get progressively warmer this week in my region, and I know the gnats will be out in full force. I find them more annoying than the wind!

Effing neighbor just ruined a doe for me. Had 2 mature does with fawns upwind feeding. Was about to pull back on the biggest at 30 yards when that sumbitch came roaring up the property line (60 yards away) on his quad with an hour left of light. Mother.....
