I posted some pictures on another thread but thought I would share on here with you guys in case you didn’t see it. I finally got last years buck back. Very pleased with taxidermy work. Guy did a hell of a job. Super proud of this deer. Not a mega giant but he makes me HAPPY
Well guys I blew it yesterday. Put an arrow in a nice buck but never found him. Good blood to follow for awhile but it eventually petered out. Looking like maybe shoulder hit. Not much penetration. Makes me sick. I’m going to walk the edge of the creek where I lost sign this morning just in case I missed something but I feel like I looked over every square inch yesterday. Total bummer. Still seeing a lot of young bucks out cruising. Passed on an 80-90" 8pt at first light yesterday. A lot of season ahead of me.
Good luck finding him today! Have a week left of vacation left to take that I plan to in the next few weeks. Once it cools back off and I’m over my covid. Starting to see some chasing here from what I’ve been hearing.
My first Halloween hunt ever is coming It’s a blue moon, Halloween full moon, and since 01Oct was the harvest moon, I hope everything has been harvested near the farm. Good luck Y’all.

So my Buddy shot two deer with his crossbow. Followed blood for a bit but never found the deer. I don’t have many details but he’s CRUSHED and said he’s hanging up his bow. Thoughts? Poor shot placement? Bad mechanical broadhead? Didn’t give the deer enough time to die? I’ll be with him Saturday and want to help him out. Thanks Safe hunts Y’all.

Got it done last night guys. Shot a 8 pointer and got him hanging in the garage. Not a big point getter but he was actually the smallest deer I had on my lust of 3 possible shooters from trail cam pics through summer. Plus he was in perfect position at 18 yards and I smashed him!!! 100 yard death run straight down steep Rocky hill tumbling down rocks to creek. Busted rack up a bit. List maybe 6 inches. I will try to get him scored this weekend. One more doe tag yet and I’m done. Hopefully Saturday. Good luck!!! It’s getting to be that time when things get good. Can’t kill em from the couch. Heading to the farm tomorrow and hope to be in the stand for the whole weekend. It’s go time and I hope this is THE weekend. Safe hunts Y’all.
Been out 7 times and have seen 47 deer including 10 different bucks. Passed a decent 8 a few Saturday's ago. Last Friday, I watch a 120" 8pt breed a doe, then proceed to guard her and keep 4 other bucks away for the next 30+ minutes before this disappeared over the hill and bedded up. I was fortunate to capture it all on video. He just never made it close enough for a shot (but honestly, I was enjoying the show and capturing it all, I kind of forgot about shooting.) Halloween morning I saw 2 more bucks including one that was shot by my Dad and ran in front of me and fell over. Pretty cool to see him still getting it done at 71 years of age. Getting snow and cold temps in PA tomorrow, I'll be back where the big 8 was at Friday. Hoping to see him or another mature buck.
Go get em. My hunting time will be cut down since time changed. I will get out maybe once a week and saturdays until the end of of the season. Got my buck scored and up on the scorecard thread. Not a big scorer but I’m still happy with him. I told myself preseason that I would shoot this deer.
