Got my buck cut up and in my beer fridge (that never has any beer in it) to cool out. It was a fun morning and I really thought I’d totally missed him. The track job was easy and that’s exactly what I wanted to work our 5 month old puppy on her first track job. We’ve been working with her in the yard. She did great for her first real track. Nothing like shooting a 102” 8 point and then checking the camera close by and finding this... DDAF565D-9C28-41BE-909C-4044A08F891B.jpeg

    That’s Barley, she’s a Cane Corso.

Hard quartering away, about 15 yards. For the circumstance, I made a perfect shot, just didn’t know it. B66591A6-7FAD-4AA7-B823-447863A7904E.jpeg

Exit was out of the opposite side lung, out of the chest cavity, back in to the front left leg, and then out. Beers were drank. It was a good day.

Accidentally left my phone at home today, highly recommended. Great sit tonight. Bumped a couple of does going in but it didn't seem to matter much, they came back through 20 minutes later. About an hour after that I had a decent buck about 60 yards out and not coming towards me but he too eventually came by at 15 yards, maybe should have plugged him. Did my first card pull of the season and he is the big boy, so far. Screenshot_20201025-203353_Gallery.jpg

    slick, nice!
Some of us "me included" sometimes wish we would held off for bigger but...., up here, weather is a huge factor on what late season will bring. Sometimes its best just to "Getter Done".
OkieBob, really, thats the biggest around?

Yeah, so far. I think a lot of people out my way have not been as busy as I have been and spent way more time making improvements. I haven't filled the feeders once or put in any food plots this year. Been too busy working out of state.

One of my buddies got this on his cam... Getting me fired up. Supposed to warm up here this week into the 40s and 50s but I don’t think that will matter.

Find out who did that and we can send Swamp to give them lessons how to do it correctly.

I saw 6 deer before i had to pull the plug and help my wife.

She shot a deer but after discussing the deers reaction we decided to wait. Snowfalling is NOT conducive to tracking. Blood at impact site and could find nothing else.

Ended up with my wife back in the stand guiding me to the area he was seen. We found him about 30 yards from there. Looked dead until it got a nudge. Were we wrong!

He ran straight through everything until he ran into a tree.

Shot was low and back in the liver.

Getting off work early and hitting the woods. This is the best weather conditions I've had all year to get into a good spot. Wet grounds, drizzling, and overcast. If I beat em back to bed I'm thinking this may be the first time in over 3 weeks I'll see a buck. Haha. Ramping up the aggressiveness...burn a spot and move on.
