Big congrats Slick. How’s everyone doing. I do have to say this is by far the least active team thread I’ve been on. Not that that’s a bad thing I guess everybody just doing there thing. I just haven’t really been able to get out much. I have some scheduled time off in a couple weeks and hope to get a few hunts in Halloween weekend. Hope everyone doing ok on here

Thanks guys. I wanted to pass on him but I guess that’s not in me lol. Then I pull a card literally 70 yards from where I killed this buck... Holy 8 and a nice clean 10 C1EEEF54-4703-48AF-88F6-E3C99F73448F.jpeg 8FF30B39-14AA-4CB6-8006-420EB512C75E.jpeg

102”. Going to run through the measurements again tomorrow, more so the math, but I’m pretty confident. 50DCFD30-53DE-4FB8-A199-07BE62B20F95.jpeg 11A33326-8F48-4BED-A314-8B68CE8AFF26.jpeg

Well I knew it was gunna be a good weekend. My son shot his first buck with a crossbow yesterday. It was just a little 2 yr old 4 pt. I asked him if he wanted to pass it and he said, “ you kidding I’ve been waiting all summer for this.” Haha so I said let her fly. I woulda taken that Over me getting a shooter any day.

I’m really gonna hammer the woods this week. I filmed a buddy hunting a big 10 with a kicker all weekend but he never showed.

I have an 8 showing up that i MIGHT shoot, but I really wanna take a doe and see what else shows up this week.

    Here’s the 8:

Here’s two other mature deer that I just don’t have a ton of interest in:

Rattled this guy in this morning and gave him the pass. Pre rut is definitely kicking in here in Ohio.

Just got back from a camping trip with the family. We rented a small rustic cabin for a long weekend in northern Michigan. May try to get out the next couple weekends to hunt but realistically probably will not be back out until my vacation days second week of November. It’s been busy.

Congrats man! And what, you're just going to leave this pic here and not tell us what broadhead you're shooting!

And my season has been slower than slow...I've only had 1.5 year old bucks in shooting range, and that was during the first 2 weekends of the season. After that, I told myself that I'm going to shoot ANYTHING that comes into range...Needless to say, I haven't had a single deer in range and have only seen a few deer over the last few weekends. Not to mention, I can only hunt weekends since I used all my vacation days on a turkey hunt in the spring, and the honeymoon in September. But I'm starting to figure out this new spot I've got and we're starting to see some more daytime activity. Hopefully something happens this weekend, otherwise I might hit some public over in NW Illinois.

Strickland Helix single bevel. 540ish grains total weight. I’ve never heard a head make so little noise on entry. No pop, no thwack. Just air. 6A4E6EC1-288B-473B-AF5D-69636A84E06F.jpeg

I might have found me a candidate to shoot. He’s not going to score a lot but he’s definitely mature.

We haven’t run cams all year. Just got tired of half of them not working and gave up. I do want to pick up a couple tactacam reveals though for $100 I hear they work well. Anyway the guy that hunts next to us sent me these. A big gnarly with trash everywhere and a pretty nice 8. I’ll shoot either if they cross on to us. I guess that goes without saying for the trashy one. CA4A5D93-FDC3-4E31-967D-B59482742ED2.jpeg 81375D59-C28B-495E-A3E6-01AC61E95AEC.jpeg A95ED3D9-C071-4D04-BC00-7A3A27702111.jpeg

I’m a trail cam junkie myself but rarely do cams last more than 3-4 seasons.

The Reveals are OKAY but the daytime picture it sends is pure trash. Night time is okay.
