Yeah, I was debating on calling the doctor. I had a run in with some weird tick stuff a few years back.
I’ll be heading out in the morning it’s going to be warm but you can’t kill em from the bed good luck to all going this pm Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I left my phone in my truck last night and had a great sit. Went to a stand I moved this summer. We had a crazy SE wind - lots of E wind this season and most stands are set up for W winds. Early on I had 2 fawns walk by at 12 yards and I got ready to shoot the doe behind them...but I'm pretty sure it was another fawn. A couple of little bucks (probably twins) walked by at 17 yards a little before dark. I watched them as shooting light passed and they met up with a couple of does. It was after shooting light when deer started walking by on the same trail as the fawns. I think it was the does and the 2 little bucks and then a few minutes later more deer. I could only see their antlers with my binoculars. One had antlers right at the ears...probably would pass on him in the light. A fun night for sure. I cannot hunt tonight or tomorrow....but this is the time to be out there. Don't any of you have the guts to shoot for blood?
Is Lyme really that common that people should get tested every time they have a tick latched? I'm a magnet for ticks. I bet I've had 25+ latched in my life.
I dont think so but Joe has a history of things with ticks. So better safe than sorry and I would agree.
Pre-game dump and heading out, loading up on water to marinate some scrapes. Rain is moving in and out, I don’t think it’ll be bad, I’m giving it all I got. I got a feeling about this evening...might bring horns for some light rattling, still on the fence about that.
I am well over 100 attached in my life for sure. Never thought about going to get tested though for any of them.
Swampy is in Rhode Island if I remember correctly, and Rhode Island is absolutely infested with Lyme carrying ticks and high number cases of Lyme. Plus that sucker was in deep so had probably been there for a while giving the tick plenty of time to transmit the disease. I believe there is a CDC Lyme disease heat density map floating around, check it out the Northeast is absolutely inundated with it.
The wind is not cooperating with me and I don't feel like messing up any spots, so I'll be on an off wind stand tonight. Gotta be one of my closer ones since I don't get off work till 430 and there is only one that fits the bill of close, quiet access and won't blow anything up. Tomorrow morning is a different story with the wind though and I'm more excited about tomorrow. Gonna be chilly.
All set up for the evening. A little warm but breeze cools it off a little. Bumped a small deer bedded under my stand on the way in. She just trotted off. I’m sure I will see her again tonight. Good luck gents!!! Time to engage. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
