It’s like a monsoon here in Wisconsin. A lot of rain which will be followed by wind I’m guessing. The temperatures are perfect. Next week will be a great week, I’m off from the 28th to the 11th, but I’m hoping to go back sooner.
I'm not hunting today, but I'm pulling all my cards.I'm Freshening up the corn piles, got some tree trimming at one site that needs done, and putting up a scrape dripper and setting a cam on it. Hoping to see some daytime action on that scrape. Tomorrow is going to be a 30 degree drop in daytime highs. I will for sure be in a srand tomorrow evening. Just have to figure out which one and if I'm waiting for a buck or if another doe is on the table as well.
I'll probably get out this afternoon. A straight north wind isn't an easy one for me here, but I do have a couple decent spots that'll work. An update on the farm that I have permission on: Owner has refused treatment for his late stage cancer and has begun a pretty bad downward spiral. I haven't pressed about coming out to hunt and probably won't for some time. I have no idea how that will turn out, but I wish that man the best. What a terrible disease...
Got 5 stand sites freshened up with corn, pulled 3 cards, got mock scrape made, got branches trimmed. Gotta hit one more stand site with corn and pull that card and I'll probably do that Sunday or Monday. Hunting tomorrow evening. Here are some pics of today's work. The picture I circled is where twice in past years I've had a giant standing there but I couldn't shoot cause it wasn't trimmed up good. Always said I was going to and I finally got it done. Included pics of the mock scrape, stand to the scrape and scrape to the stand. Then I saw a monstrous new rub in the area today that I just noticed. I've got stands a on 2 sides of this rub, the one I circled cause it's hard to see.
So who's all hunting tonight, Saturday/Sunday? I can't wait to be on the stand. It's going to be 30 degrees colder tomorrow evening than it is this evening. I think some deer are going to hit the ground this weekend!!!!!

This deer is the specific deer haunting me tho and the one I want to take. He’s elusive and pretty nocturnal right now. He has a brother that’s smaller that comes through frequently in the evenings I’m afraid I’m going to shoot and I want to let him grow another year. This deer is giving me sleepless nights man.
