I’m in PA on my 6th sit with the muzzle stuffer trying to shoot a doe.... Finally had a deer walk up to me and it’s a 7 point.... 2020 is the devil.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You have the gist of it. There is a difference in that this is not a rank in the USAF. It is a duty position open to E7-E9. Hard duty to get. CMC you just need to be a crotchety old seaman and outlast all the others. LOL. I'm sure there is more to it than that.
Hah. Knew as I posted that I had 3 pages left to catch up on and someone would throw Hazmore out there also. That's me, Mr. Late to the Party. Brett- I have one on my LW climber and that X-stand climber I used last year in VA came with a similar net seat. They are awesome. You'll love it. Scent free and best of all don't retain any water. No more wet butt (except sweat) and they help in that department also. You won't have to deal with it much being in a warm weather state but my only complaint is they do get a little cold because the air flow is right next to your rear end but I don't even notice unless it's in the teens.
Hey bears are a pain in the rear. I had a young one at my MI spot last year. He is there again this year.
I'm somewhat familiar with it since I have three kids in the Air Force. The position is similar to that of a CMC in that the Shirt, as I understand it, is the senior enlisted advisor to the CO. They have that in common, but a Command Master Chief is an E9 and is the highest ranking enlisted person at his or her command.
One thing I'll add is that I didn't have total faith in the strings they send with it to lace it together. It seemed like they didn't want to tighten up and stay. I did use them and melted the cut ends, but I also used some small zip ties by each lace for added security and snipped the tag end off.
We are finally totally finished with the processing. Now keep in mind that we grind EVERY useable part of the deer. Neck, ribs, belly meat, bloodshot meat, fat, etc. The fat, rib meat, belly meat and bloodshot meat goes into the dog grind pile. We put right at 50 pounds of meat in the freezer from the first doe. Today we put a little over 110 pounds of ground meat in the freezer plus the six back straps and six tenderloins. I would guess that those three deer gave us close to 180 pounds of meat for us and the dogs. If it's not too stinking hot I may get out and start my quest for a buck this afternoon. I've shot two does here at my home place and I wont shoot any more here until after the rut.
I'm not sure about this afternoon. It's supposed to get up to 81 degrees and the wind is supposed to be out of the south, which isn't a great wind but from my experience hunting across the road there isn't any such thing as a good wind because the deer can come from any direction. The low tonight is supposed to be 66 degrees and tomorrow morning could be good. There's a storm front that's supposed to get here between 8:00 and 10:00 am, so first thing in the morning might be a good time to catch them heading to bed ahead of the storm front. I guess I'll go out this afternoon if for no other reason than to have my stand set up and in place for tomorrow morning.
I really need to get back in the woods y'all. Sitting out to give my spot time to calm down is killing me. I won't be able to go this evening either.
Well Damn, looks like they make one for my Equalizer too. Nothing wrong with the factory seat, but it has a metal frame and I'm sure it weighs a couple of pounds. Ordering!
Time to find an alt spot. I've got a nice 1300 parcel of public few folks seem to know about or hunt. Figured out about half a dozen spots on it... But some times the wind is just wrong... Those are days to go explore new ground.
Heading out as soon as I get off work today. Temps are to warm, but I have good winds! I need to spill some blood.
