All but a couple deer have left the field. Waiting on the last wave of deer to come out hopefully. The buck I heard in the swamp hasn't showed yet. Crossing my fingers.
We jumped a pheasant on the farm in Southern Illinois this past weekend! Had to be released by the state. There was a quail unlimited project a few years back where they released some type of hybrid quail and idk what else but it surprised the sh!t out of us. You just Don’t see them that far south Unless released
7 does n fawns at 14 yards.came from the direction I least expected. 1 fawn seen me move. Played peekaboo for a bit.
Got my butt kicked left and right. I was in the game but the game didn't come my way. My gear in myself smell like swamp gut.
Well the last hour of light was exciting and it turned out to be a great sit. Saw 2 doe come in followed by a big bodied 4 point who absolutely bolted at the doe. 5 minutes later a shooter 8 came from behind me. Watched him for like 10 minutes and he wasn’t moving. Made a scrape and rubbed a couple trees. Ranged him at 45 yards, little bit out of range. I was ready and thought he was going to make a left turn towards my stand, kept walking straight instead. giant came out on property behind me then circled around out farther into my field. then he started nudging does again. on my way home i saw 3 different bucks all with groups of does. one was a sweet 10pt. find the does boys that's where the bucks will be now.
