So a little bit more eventful that yesterday's evening hunt. One smaller six and a basket eight came through at last light. They both milled around and ate persimmons. Awesome sunset, crazy color sky with the outlines of the two bucks in the foreground as they left the stand of persimmons after shooting light had faded. Cold fronts, the old double whammy with artic air moving down this way next weekend. Can't imagine that'll do much for movement.. pitter patter
Set a stand this morning on private land that had me "get wood" A little cove tucked up tite to a super thick patch of woods. I analyzed the ****outta it before hanging a stand. Damn near notched my tag before even climbing in this evening 3 coyotes came by and blew the whole woods out. May put the FoxPro to work tomorrow
One I picked up from Amazon that had pretty good reviews inexpensive. I figured good for turkey and small game. Though when they arrived sharper than expected and even better with a quick touch up. So I thought they'd work for deer. Well did but with luck I think. It wasn't just the tip that bent it was the entire furrule holding the blade that bent from hitting bone. I'm surprised it past through, though not completely. I should have stayed with original thought for purchase and only use my G5 on deer. That or my thunderheads which have been good over the years. With all this I have to say they actually fly great. As far as a decision it was a bonehead one on my part, that I got seriuosly lucky on period.
