I had the same scenario the two of the last three seasons, on a buck in 2017 and a doe in 2019. I found the buck but not before the coyotes and vultures. The doe I lost due to property lines and not being allowed to track. It happens, shake it off and get back out there!
Damn sorry to hear man. All you can do is keep your head up and keep on hunting. There’s nothing better confidence booster like a fat slick head! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Back at it in the state forest. Came down one of the side trails and started picking up a half mile long scrape line. This is more than likely dropped at night. As tempting as it was to set up I kept pushing back further until I felt I was close to where a buck might bed. Took me awhile but I cut some big tracks ok the creek and walked another 400 to 500 yes real slow til I found a beaten down path below the ridges. Here goes nothing....except maybe I'm getting bit by these darn mosquitoes in this semi swampy spot.
Been misting/snowing all day long. Very light south wind. Feels like something might die tonight. Heading out at 330 once I’m done with work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
At the end of the day you did all you could do to recover him. My hats off to you for a valante effort! Things happen for a reason! Get back out there and shoot a bigger one!
Appreciate that a lot. I'll definitely be back out Saturday. I'm exhausted. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Guys it will be disrespectful if we dont kill like 5 deer and 5 pigs tonight on the anniversary of Oct 19, 2019.
Hate it for you Ridge but you gave it a heck of an effort! I applaud your resilience! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
A lovely night to be in a tree. Blessed to be out. The burner is on and the water will soon boil. Kill. Wind is forecasted NE. They must have meant blowing to the NE from the SW. 180 degrees wrong. Aim small Miss small
Farmer started combining corn. Got to the corner and 2 does already out. Busted me but they didn’t blow or anything. Just trotted off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
All set up in the blind tonight. Nice drizzle in the air. Doom and gloom kind of night. This is the kind of stuff the big boys move in. Better than on the couch. Good luck to all out.
Heading in, Deer are out feeding already. Problem seen 50 in the 15 minute drive. Let's spill some blood fellas!
First sit in Ohio! Got rained out this morning unfortunately. Tonight I’m sitting in a blind where 3 big ridges intersect. There was a 145 8 in here this morning at 10 so I’m hoping he’s close and comes back through, only time will tell! Good luck pm shift! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
