I know it can be all relative but I have had 8 total sits and I have seen 4 deer from the stand. All bucks. 1 the first sit, 1 the second sit and then 2 on the 7th sit..so there were a few sits when I saw nothing. I am getting sporadic trail cam pics..they show up 2 days then I don't see them again. maybe come back on the 6th day of a week log observation. what has been like for you?

I've been beyond spoiled over the past few years. This year I've hunted four times. I saw deer on three of those sits. I've seen approximately 28 deer across those sits. Like I said, I'm spoiled.

Before a few years ago, though, my sits were much like yours.

You have a lot agriculture? Acorns? good travel routes? high deer density?

10 hunts, 2 deer seen from the stand (2 small doe). Jumped one on Saturday while scouting. This is normal for where I hunt. It makes you appreciate any encounter.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I've been out more than 10 times. most likely 12-15 times.

Not sure how many times I've sat but I see deer every sit. It's rare if I don't see deer. Think I've only seen one small buck so far this year, but a ton and ton of does/fawns. The beans were harvested and that changed their pattern up quite a bit so I haven't seen as many as I did earlier.

All of the above. If I had to narrow it down, I'd say I'm on good travel routes close to agriculture. Fair amount of acorns, but I don't think that has played as big a role in what I've seen.

I'm thankful for the setups I've got and I hope this run lasts as long as it possibly can.

It is all about deer density. I only have one sit so far this season. I saw one doe, maybe has a fawn with it but I am not sure.

Im in the top 15-20 counties in VA for deer density, but I think my issue is way too many places to bed...seriously. thousands of acres of pines and cutover with some tall timber slices mixed in.. basically bedding 360 deg around most stands..seems like a crap shoot where and when they come out..It's been tough for years to pin point them, but this year seems even tougher...anyone who hunts in the south around timber company leases knows what I mean..they cut stuff as soon as you think you got it figured out and they create yet even more bedding!

I've sat 6 times for myself and have been skunked 4 of them. I sat 5 times with my son and was only skunked once. When I'm hunting for myself I'm going to areas that don't hold many deer, but I'm looking for specific bucks. When I was with my son, we sat food plots looking for any deer that came within range.

I've only had three evening sits this year. First two sits I saw the same group of does, yearlings, fawns and a smaller buck. The last sit yesterday evening, I bumped a forkie going in and then proceeded to not see anything until I was a hundred yards from my truck and bumped a buck in a persimmon patch. Its rare that I don't see at least one or two on a sit but it happens.

No matter what I see it still beats looking at another roof or a honey-do list..

Three sits so far. 1. 13 deer, half were bucks. 2. 8 deer, 6 were bucks. 3. 3 deer, 0 bucks. (very windy that evening)

I am taking my wife tonight to hunt her early muzzleloader season. I will be disappointed if we don't see at least 10 at the spot we are heading to.

so it seems like my sits are about on the average and about what I see normally.. I think I average about 24-27 deer sightings in a 5 week bow season. that's about 12 total sits.

Yeah that was Saturday. Many would be screaming how the rut is on in my area....the yearlings and a few 2.5s were FLYING EVERYWHERE. I was spinning my camera arm so much I thought I'd have to ice it afterwards LOL. I kept hoping just one mature buck would decide to peak out of the bedding just to see what the youngins were terrorizing every doe in sight about...but nope.

I have to admit I had my first sit over at the farm and I was discouraged. I was used to watching the deer at sundown most nights when I was home I knew where they came from and where they went. I was spoiled I would see up to 20 deer a night when I sat, when I sit in a stand I always think why am I here, location, feed, bedding travel route. Not seeing the deer on a regular basis makes it feel like a guessing game. I hunt when the odds are best at success this year I feel like it just gambling and hoping.

It varies for me. I’ve only had 3 sits so far. I saw 10+ my first morning. Saw 5 that evening and 2 the second evening. In thicker areas with less visibility of course I won’t see as many. In wider open observation sits I have seen 50+
