Hope you find him ridgerunner! Public land was a success. No buck sighting but I picked a spot on the map with what knowledge I pretend to think I might have and 3 does and two unknowns followed the plan. To far back to be packing a doe out the night before work tomorrow.
Well got set up on a trail i made for getting the 4wheeler back into the trees. Had 6 coons play around all night. Right at last light two does came in and i got excited and missed. They didnt seem to spoked so i left my stuff and got outta there. Go back in a couple days.
Hope all goes well @picman. Good luck @Ridgerunner3 blood looks good. Hopefully he aint to far from where you stopped.
Lost blood in a big open field. Down to a trickle and we backed out. Daylight will make it easier but im not sure if the meat will make it. I'll find him. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
If i missed any questions, sorry. Kind of a roller coaster here and was trying to keep up, but I think I covered how it went down for the most part. I've been on one track like this before. Blood gets thin and watery on what started off promising. Gonna try my dog on him in the morning and another buddy might bring his lab later if needed. I've never heard a buck make the noises he made before I saw him. He was running and almost sounded like a horse blowing. Weird. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
meat'll be OK til AM, looks like most of MO is supposed to be mid-low 40s overnight. Dang when I saw the last blood from where you first backed out I thought for sure he would be dead soon. Good luck in the AM
My first hand knowledge is that they are wary of humans. Ive had tracks that were coming directly to my stand only to veer off. But i would hate to test that while deep in the cedar swamp hours after the shot.
Well...I'm awake and getting my crap together and waiting for sunrise. Good luck everyone that gets out today. I'll update on the track a little bit later. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
