Does it make a big difference on warmth if it’s directly on skin vs over a baselayer? I used mine this weekend on top of a merino heavy baselayer and it helped but not what I would have thought in terms of warmth. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Pretty uneventful sit. I was thinking of sitting by a persimmon patch but thought it was too early, wrong. As I was walking out I jumped a nice buck milling around the patch. Maybe tomorrow night..
Well gonna sit in the rain in the a.m. I have had good luck in the past and most people won’t be out on public Mathews HTR, Sword 5 pin, Truball release, Goldtip XT hunter 300, QAD 125 gr Swept, QAD rest
Is he sticking to an easy route, circling back or continuing on his way? What's the blood look like that far into the track? Any frothiness to it? You'd think he would be foaming up a bit by now, even if only at the entry wound and not so much mouth/nose. Damn, hopefully it's fatal and just needs a bit more time
I have a Milwaukee hoodie and I put it over whatever my first layer is, T shirt or baselayer. I want something beteeen it and my skin, not so much for burns but it has a zipper and pinched skin hurts Base layer, heated garment and then a layer or two over that for insulation.
Soooo he's taking an easy track now. I'm home btw. Getting better lights and some help. This was some of the last blood before I backed out (with the flash) and some more blood pics Definitely at least one lung. Like I said it may have been low hit. I'm regrouping and he'd back in 30 minutes Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
1st pic, what do you think he's looking at? 2nd pic, name him cork screw then kill him Love that right beam
Pitman. I hope thing work out for you.! Tough sitting if the heart ain't in it. Good luck to your dad. Ridgerunner, iffn it cool out and you can wait till morning, do it. Have lost too many deer over the years jumping the gun. Drew back on a monster bodied buck tonight. He snuck up behind me. Was a spur of the moment do_dont do shot. He's a clean 8 but would only go 130 max but I think he was an OLD buck. Happened too fast and didn't shoot. Was about 7_8 yards away. Checked a cam and he was there this morning on a mock scrape. Not a high scoring buck but ill kill him if get another crack at him. How he got that close without me knowing is.....
Middle pic with your hand. Is thata meaty blob of some sort? First pic, is that one side of the trail or bleeding both sides? Torn between pushing him or letting him bed and die....
Headed back in. Been 3 hours since I shot him. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
What state are you in? No clue why but have always associated your posts with NC but thinking you're more of a northern state now.
Swampy n pastorjim, thanks for the advice on the heated stuff. As I get older , the cold sets in harder. As a young man, I'd sit fro hours in - 20temps. Now, anything below 10* makes me question my sanitary.
