Thanks guys! As many of you know I live in Indiana and rarely hunt Tennessee. I didn't even kill a Tennessee buck last year. This year I skipped the first 2 weekends of Indiana's season this year. Hell I haven't even climbed a tree in Indiana yet!!!! My Dad and I put in a ton of work on this place this summer. I owe this Man so much. I thanked him a dozen times on our ride back to the house. Anytime I am working with him on this place it's a good time. Turning thickets into food requires planning, but it paid off! I missed this buck last weekend and this weekend I got extremely lucky and spined him. The follow up wasn't pretty but it got the job done. I shoot my bow a lot and even shot this morning out to 80. Bottom line Bowhunting is ugly sometimes, but if you keep grinding sometimes you get lucky. My plan is to hammer Indiana over the next 2 weeks then I head to Iowa for 5 days. Iowa is a dream hunt and I can't wait to get there. After Iowa I come back to Indiana for 5 days to hunt with my home boys, then Ohio will wrap up the 2020 rut. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
Good stuff Ben, You have obviously worked very hard and put your time in Congrats again! Its great that you and your dad are able to share these experiences. Good luck with your upcoming trips. I'm especially interested in your Iowa trip as I have 4 preference points that I anxiously waiting to use myself.
PA Doe down! Shot her last Saturday 10/10 @ 6:50 PM. I submitted it, so we will have 50 more points. Here is the video if you feel like checking it out. .
Great job Ryan. My vacation can’t get here fast enough to hopefully add something to this team. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nice deer guys! Struck out in Ky but had great encounters with some deer just no shots on anything big(doe or buck)! Will be back up in November tho! Put my trail cameras up and got more pics of the drop tine buck, anxious to see the other deer that show up over the next couple of weeks!
Heading out as soon as I get off work today. Temps are to warm but I have good winds and need to spill some blood. Next week starts my vacation. The next 4 weeks I have every Thu-Fri off giving me 4 straight days of hunting each week!
Good luck Tony. I made it one day this week. Passed on a couple doe. Each one had fawns with her. They tend to stick around my property so later I. The season they won’t be so lucky. Found a dead 4x4. Game warden says EHD is going around. Hard freeze tomorrow should stop that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well last night sit showed me that the deer at the lease are living in the corn. I watched one come out of the corn around 5 PM and bed down. Saw another one 50 yards into the field bedded as I went to leave. Pretty warm and didn't expect much movement till dark. Didn't get any really. Need the corn out. The farmer is suppose to let me know when he starts picking. Any way recon had this to show me.
It’s that way on my lease too Tony. Unfortunately, no corn this year. I’m on call this weekend so no hunting for me. After next Friday I will have 11 days off to hunt. Hopefully I can get it done. It’s been a very slow year so far. Good luck to everyone getting out this weekend.
Pulled the ground blind chip on the way out today. This buck is going to slip up. I just hope I am there when he does.
Had a new buck show up last night! He’s the bigger body deer, the other one is the drop tine buck we’ve been seeing!
I’ve never tried aging any deer before but would it be fair to say the drop tine buck is a 3yr old and the other buck is a 4-5yr old?
