My dad just texted me, he’s out in the woods! He said it’s swirling around where he is to. This kind of sucks. Not sure if I should stay put or move

Looks like you've got a predominate wind blowing to the SE all day. If you have swirls you may not get any relief, the rest of day around terrain features. If you need to make a tweak on the setup, don't dilly dally...

All set up and ready to go. I’m in a new set I made earlier in the summer. Haven’t hunted it yet. Should have been in this tree Tuesday evening. Would have been a 12 yard chip shot to where my target buck entered field. Stand I was in at the time put him at 40. Not sure he will come back out here but history shows this spot to be used by older deer. 3 out of the last 7 seasons a mature buck has been seen in this exact spot. 2 were killed.

Yeah, right up until you start to skin and quarter them. Then it's not so cool.

Those two does are all cut up and on ice. All knives and tools are cleaned, touched up and ready to rock again.

My sister in law was nice enough to wash my hunting clothes for me while I was cutting the deer up.

All that remains is to take a shower and get back out there.

I'll be going to a new spot this afternoon. Well, it's not new. It's another spot on the same farmer's land and it's where I missed a buck earlier in the season. There are a few good bucks on camera there.

This sit will be buck only. I've no interest in another doe this trip for obvious reasons.

Congrats on the double!! I’m back in the tree now. Wind picked up quite a bit throughout the day. In a good direction for the expected movement tonight! Good luck everyone!!

Home and napped. I ended up having another doe with 2 fawns check out the decoy at 9:30.

Everybody just checked her out visually from 30 yards upwind. I expected deer to circle downwind and give me a 15 yard shot...

I feel over my covid symptoms enough today that I believe I’ll join the pm crew. Isolation about 16’ up sounds like a good idea.
New spot I’ve never tried, using my new climber. No idea if I’ll have cell service, forgot to check when I prepped the tree a couple weeks ago. It’s a better spot to be holding the ‘ol TC Renegade, but think I’ll take the bow instead.
Almost as excited to check the camera there as I am to hunt. Hopefully it shows that the trails get used as much as I think they do.
Out west in Pacific Time like I am, I’ll have shooting light until 9:30 Eastern time. Good luck all!

All setup in a different spot. Wind still swirling a bit, but I’m in a spot that I can get away with it.

Just finished scanning pics from the big scrape I'm sitting over. Three nice ones are working it. One this morning at 8:45 am... Killer 10..... Day late and a dollar short.

So what's a plan if ya don't change it...lol.Son called and asked to hunt where I'd planned. OK. So here I am in a ground blind at the only spot I have pics of anything. Deer only, for turkey have shown mornings only.. Eewww been a while since I've drawn back in a ground blind. That was interesting. Feeling a bit of burn.
Trying a licorice based scent tonight. Winds a little funky hope to draw attention to wick not me

I walked within 100 yards of a trespasser this morning and didn't know it until I checked my camera on the way out. I was walking in at 6:15 and he was on camera going the other way at 6:19. He must have seen/heard me go by and took off once I was clear. Right on the edge of a cut corn field. Muzzleloader opened today and 2 shots were awful close this morning. We walked back to the state line and didn't find anybody but they were definitely here.

Set up near an outside corner. Wind picked up a bit. Acorns are plentiful, I freshened the mock scrape that has seen some action. Does are off the hook tonight unless I get a chip shot then maybe.
    Good luck PM shift.[IMG]

Took a nap in the truck and now I’m back out for the evening. Sitting on the edge of a bean field for the evening.
