Quick update from me. I hunted lastnight saw 18 deer but only had 2 fawns in range. It was an awesome sit just couldn't close the deal I was locked down I couldn't grab my binos to check if some of the deer were bucks, but at least 12 were doe and faws. I'll attach some pictures from that area from a card I pulled on my way to that location.
Well I had high hopes for this morning, started raining around 730 last night and went clear until right at sunrise again this morning but nothin doing. Sat until noon and didn't see any deer just tons of squirrels. Had lunch helped the wife unpack after she got to the farm for the weekend and now I'm clipped in for the evening! Hey guys, I'm trying to get back into the swing of posting on here. I'll be out tomorrow morning and evening. My wife was on a little weekend break with a friend for the weekend before the next month or so of me being gone hunting a bunch. Got a nice picture on my cell came overnight. I'll attach it. I saw 10 doe+fawns tonight, but no shots. I had a big doe at 32 yards, but no shot. I'll be out again Weds.
I put an arrow in a big bear tonight. About 350-400 lbs. 30 yards broadside, right behind the shoulder, 18 inches of the arrow broke off in him. Nightfall came too quick for a recovery so we're headed out at first light. If it all goes as planned I'll have a day and half left here to chase deer. What a stressful night. I paced a 3' deep trench in the floor, one more hour to go until I go find by bruin. Taking the bow in case I jump a deer, rumor has it the swamp I might find myself in has held 150" bucks every year. Could I possibly walk out with 2 trophies? Why does it seem that if someone from this team shoots something, they are never to be seen again? Could it be the wildlife mafia? Lol.
Well guys.... We searched and searched and searched some more. Everyone was 110% sure he was down including myself. When you watch your luminock drive in behind the shoulder, you don't really have any doubts. He was spotted this morning by a guy that didn't have a clear shot. So of course my 3 day trip is now a 5 day trip, I'm here to finish it. It's personal now. Hopefully he decides to come way and not the other guys in the morning. Set up my stand for the second weekend of the park hunt. We’ve got about 4 inches of snow on the ground right now and it’s gonna be a chilly weekend. Feels like it’ll be a good hunt though. Just that time of year!
