Well with everything going on and people finding UXOs every day over the pass two weeks I've finally made it. Only problem is I forgot my stupid release... Well good thing I carry a back up. Sent from my S41 using Tapatalk
Looking at the weather for the remainder of the week. We have a pretty decent cold front coming through tonight into tomorrow. Almost a 30 degree drop in High temps from today to tomorrow. I think I'll bite the bullet and skip out of work tomorrow early afternoon and get in the stand. Hopefully bucks will be on their feet feeling frisky.
Pulled card before work but didn't have tie to review pictures. Late night update possible. Planning to hunt Sunday afternoon. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I’m taking Friday off to hunt all day in Ohio, I have young bucks bumping doe and scrapes are piling up all over. The deer are gonna be on their feet with this front. Good luck all!
Nothing big to report. Just some old guy checking the camera with his contest championship hat from a few years back. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I had an all black hat like that from a championship win years ago, finally bit the dust last season. Time for a new one, if ya catch my drift haha.
I have a question for u guys. I'm on my first hunt of the year and I chose a piece of public that is only like 200 feet wide for about 300 yards from my access pts. Then it opens up to a large timber to the left and swamp to the right. I planned on hunting the swamp edge where a creek met it back in there a couple hundred yards past the skinny access. Got to where it opens up and I bumped 4 does eating on a bunch of acorns. They ran right where I wanted to go. Instead of screwing up the spot more I just sat over the acorns. Is this a bad call? Probably should mention to the right of the access is private crp and left is the same swamp but private. Also I'm only trying to kill a doe for the team. Sent from my SM-S205DL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
If you find their food source, the deer will show up. You have found the does. Bucks will be showing up soon. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I think your in the chips on that spot, just need to find how to get in there without bumping deer, there gonna be heading back in from the crp in the am and heading to it in the evening, hunt the active food sources. If there on acorns beat that up till there gone, hunt where they are going and coming to not where they are. If that makes sense. Good luck !
When I find the acorns especially the ones the deer are keying in on I go up the tree and let my arrows come down
I need a new one. I have two from back to back wins but broke the buckle swatting wasps in a blind last season. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Passed on a really heavy 8 last night. 4.5 year old 10 yards from the stand. Really tempting but looking for something a little different this year. I'm headed back to the stand this evening, Sunday evening and all day Monday with this cold front swooping in. Does anybody else check the weather every couple of hours too? Good luck everybody! Im surprised my weather app doesn’t talk back and tell me that it hasn’t changed in the last 30 minutes Good luck man. Passing them is tough but necessary to kill the right one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
