Of course, 'everybody' knows the >real< argument is over the 6.5...

I like some of the meateater staff's stuff, but the volume of other pieces (articles, comments, podcasts) I don't, is on the rise...

    I can get behind that.

Let’s talk about the REAL issue at hand though....people watching/listening to/supporting MeatEater!!!!!

Y’all do know he has partnered with a non-hunting group right? I’ll never support that again.

    wait for it....

I have a feeling wl704's point is directly related to Droptine's.

I spoke on that matter here about a year ago? Anyway, yes Rinella's new financier/business partner that got him hooked up with Netflix is a guy who is a HUGE Clinton Foundation guy. Can't remember his name right now. Anyway, that guy has helped bundle hundreds of millions in political slush money to people in Clinton INC world.

My understanding, he took on a (west coast) business partner to help back /finance his company as he had significant growth plans (more content, channels, partnerships, bought First Lite, etc). In general I don't perceive a lot of overt (antihunting) influence in his messages...per se.

I do think he has hired some folks on his team that I don't agree with or listen to...I do appreciate the perspective that Rinella brings to various topics, the repoire and candor...others I skip.

That’s a rant??? Considering how early they start indoctrinating kids these days, you should be glad he didn’t say something like “the non-binary gender fluid Xe’s”

In no way was that a rant, it was a reply to cantexian.

This damn ammo shortage is getting stupid. Charging 10 bucks for a 20 round box of Serbian crap 223 ammo is pretty bad... but charging that much and not even including any bullets in the ammo.... now that’s getting out of hand.... if they’re going to charge prices like that is it really asking too much for them to ask that to include the bullets. After all, the bullet is kind of the most important part. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of shooting the firearm if there isn’t anything to fire out of it.

that is crazy. But PPU is good ammo, brother. Their .44mag runs flawlessly in my a Ruger carbine with tight groups out to 150 yards.

...or so I hear from my friend, who has those things.

It is snowing this morning, I hate snow. Had to grab the long underwear and wash it.

^^^ Glad we missed out on the snow. However, I did get my plow truck and tractor ready for it yesterday.

If it had snowed you could not have kept me out of the woods this AM.

I agree, I love hunting in snow. Guess how many times that has happened in the 15 years I have lived in Arkansas.

Watching the news and evidently there is going to be a shortage of canned corn this winter.

I second this... Hands down my favorite way to hunt. Love finding a set of tracks and moving in on foot since. Getting some Snow before closing day is probably not as rare here as it is in Arkansas, but still only get it once every 3-5 years in my part of the state. Get plenty after closing day but November/December it isn't that common. Me and a couple Buddys always save at least one tag until the end of the season just in case it snows. If it doesn't then we just get together as a group on the last weekend of the season and go to each of our hunting properties and do a deer drive so we can still fill our tags. I think 3, maybe 4, seasons ago was the last time we got the snow so I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be a snow year.

The only thing better than deer hunting in snow, is pheasant and waterfowl hunting in the snow. By far my absolute favorite!

Yeah, I have only done it once in Arkansas. It has snowed more than that during season, but, I have young kids now, so snow days are spent at home playing with them until they get a little older. My last snow day hunt, my oldest was still in diapers.
