Yeah that crap will make a man angry. It happens and it's never a good feeling. Every time I've had it happen I always think how crazy that timing is. Did he spook?

No, he didn’t blow or even run. He just kinda walked fast stopped and then went on. He had a smaller 8 with him. He beat me by 5 minutes. I usually never come in this late but had a feeling it was going to be a good evening.

I think he’s fine, he didn’t go far. I honestly think he’s a younger deer and probably not as smart as a mature deer. Which is why I should let him grow. But I don’t trust the neighbor to let him grow and he would make me happy. So I’m taking him if the opportunity arises. I have this weird feeling we are still in the game tonight.

Doe does get the smack down if she comes by also.

Processing complete. Taking a few minutes to figure out how to work my schedule to have the most time hunting.

I'll be hunting Monday and Wednesday mornings. Possibly Friday morning. Going to take the grandsons out an evening or 2 this week.

Back home safely, I guess to take everything from this hunt it was nice to see him in daylight in the area I see him frequently. That spot is a much better morning area then evening but it’s hard to get up there in the mornings. Will be back out maybe Wednesday.

Here’s my main setup, I’ve never really shared it before. Lot of bedding surrounding me. The red are all parts of travel with the red pinch point the main entrance and exit of the field. The deer love that field because it is isolated and safe. Tons of pics at that pinch point. There is food everywhere for the deer.

Are you not in a doe kill spot? Or are you confident you can get one later?

I got one doe down already and no, I usually don't shoot does back here unless I'm desperate. With that said a large group of does just came through and I got busted by one of them then I had 2 or 3 blowing at me.

Didn't end up hunting this morning... I had to get some stuff done at work. But I plan to hunt this afternoon and will probably be the last day I hunt this week. Temps are rising and I'm really just trying to protect my stuff a little bit - no reason to lean on it this early...

I will either shoot a doe one day next week or I will wait until mid November.

Guys I probably won't get back out this week. Gonna rest up and try to plan up my next move. My home spot just doesn't seem to be holding deer, so I might do a weekend hunt at the new farm. Plus I'm interviewing for a new job tomorrow, dealing with applications and paperwork that goes with it.
