This team is awesome.... all of us chomping at the bit to see each others deer and no judgment. Proud to call you guys teammates! I'm not sure when my first sit will be. I'm super busy with grad school and clinicals along with work and family.... but don't worry I'll make time!

My dad is hunting one of our better stands tonight. Hopefully he shoots a nice one and I'll get some good intel also ;)

Woah!! What a buck. Awesome kicker points to go along with a ton of character! Congratulations.

You can call that a double main beam / drop tine! Haha However you want to tell the story over time.

    This team is a force!

Love that extra main beam he's got. Congratulations!

Probably a good deer to take out before they start fighting. I bet he'd do some damage to other bucks with that spear sticking out like that.

I'm no expert in what to do with the abnormal points and would probably have to ask somebody else with more know how, but I would think you would just score him as a typical 8 and add the abnomal point total inches? WAG: 124-130.

Ya I’m not an expert on putting the tape to a buck... Typically I have a buddy do mine for me - he knows what he’s doing better than me and removes any bias to the process. But mainly because I don’t wanna mess it up.

I have him at 123ish but the question comes in the base with the kicker. I went above it and registered 5 when if I go at the absolute bottom it's wayyyy higher. I always take the lower score in times like these to avoid being that guy but I would like to know.

For that big kicker, I would think it would be measured like any other point. From the base, along the outside to the tip. That is how I would do it, but again, I'd probably have to ask a better scorer than myself.

I believe on kicker/sticker/drop tine points you always measure from the tip to the nearest edge of the beam... So it sounds as if you've guessed correctly to me. Anyone else?

Once Fix posts his scored buck that should put us around 299 and the leaders unless another buck has been posted that I didn't realize... Either way - we're in this thing for the long run.

I'm going to head to the stand around 5:00 which will give me 3 solid hours to hunt... I can sneak in pretty quietly so I don't see any reason to be on stand much earlier than that this early.

I freshened some scrapes a few days ago so if one of these 2 bucks I'm interested in is still in the area I think he is then I could catch more than a glimpse... These woods hunt pretty small if one of them is here then I will probably see them. With the leaves on the beans wilted away and so dry I'm just not sure what incentive the bucks have to meander onto my property until dark... Cutting them off will prove more difficult this year with all the invasive honey suckle killed off earlier this summer.
